I felt of Amarnath in his last years of career the same way some kids/teens thinking now of sachin . i used to wish let amarnath get out quickly so that we can see azar and Kapil batting who has good run rates by that time.
It was one of those days of 1989 when I have skipped my afternoon classes to watch the match on TV.Srikanth's India is in Pakistan.I remember I was alone in home. Match was delayed due to some reasons and an exhibition match for 20 overs or so was decided just to console the crowd.Exhibition it is for others, but not for Indian fans and pak players.Those days hitting more than one boundary in an over was a crime for Indian batsmen.india is chasing 150 plus and made 80 something in 15 overs. yet another defeat in the offing.Pak players and crowd are killing indians. There are 2 new recruits for the series,bowler Salil Ankola and a batsman of my age-Sachin Tendulkar.He now came to bat at 6th or 7th.Srikanth is still there.I thought he will be feeling proud to play alongside Kris. Leg Spin legend Adbul Qadir with his jumping action is now coming to bowl to sachin.The crowd with milk bottles shouted and the banners said"Bacche ko Pilavoo". First ball, sachin cam down the crease and did something."A Six??"..how come!! Hey..he is again jumping down and trying to hit! We have never seen any indian trying to hit all balls. One 4 and 3 sixes in a Row!!! The crowd is no more seen in the gallary, they are dead. Abdul qadir has just knew for the first time the meaning of humiliation. I am no more in the chair or even in the room. I found myslef jumping right infront of the monitor.2 more overs and the 16 year old has hit 50 runs!!some thing which we havent seen even
I was witnessing the greatest miracle in Cricket I had seen till that date and even to this date no ther feat of Sachin was a bigger wonder for me.Because after seeing that match we knew that He is capable of doing anything. I took my BSA SLR and flew to my friends whom I was sure have missed this match and I wanted to shout at them "I have just seen the greatest miracle and a new Avatar!"
Sachin scored a superb century against Kenya in the WC of 1999. India had lost the previous match against Zimbabwe. Sachin did not play the match against Zimbabwe since he flew to India to attend his fathers funeral. India had to win the game against Kenya to stay alive in the tournament. The Master came to bat at number 4 and scored a century. After hitting the 100 he raised his arms and looks towards the sky as if he was dedicating the century to his beloved father. To score a century is a great achievement for some of us mortals. But the Master once again demonstrated his mental toughness to score the run in the situation he was mentally is really special.
I have remember one of the best innnag by sachin where he played well aganinest in pakistan he made in 136 runs it was was very awsome inning but india lost match but that match was name on master blaster i am saliting this god of cricketer most of the match i have saw thanks sachin
