There is no need to ask him to retire. Leave him alone and let him decide. But if he is not performing and if he reduces himself to ALSO BATTED, then the selectors should have the guts to drop him!!!! Needless to say that the selectors lack the spine on this issue. Mostly becuase they are all mediocre and are in the awe of Sachin
No power in India can retire him.Even the super corrupt Pawar can't make him, forget the smaller clowns in the BCCI.It will have to be done cleverly like Sandeep Patil did to make him retire from ODI's.He will have to be told behind closed doors,that-'either u go or we will sack u'.His sacking cannot be open,as he is the media created God,and u don't retire Gods.If ever he is openly sacked be prepared for 'Bandhs' in Bombay,Shivsena might take to the streets,Maharashtra's sole hero wud be a void hard to fill.He won't leave on his own, thats for sure,as he can't do anything else than play.

U missed the point even more bro... Maharashtra has had so many "heros" in cricket that most Marathis could care less.
Yes sachin should retire and should not wait for somebody breaking his records and hence he should still play, enough is enough and we have seen played some fantastic cricket and he should retire gracely like Rahul Dravid and Lakshman.

yes. he is retiring the way dravid and laxman did by being chased and blackmailed by the selectors.
