Mr ranatunga if one day cricket is 90-10 in favour of batsmen then India does not need good bowlers ..

Unsustainable shift in balance

When the contest between bat and ball is gradually killed in order to make it more marketable, it's going to slowly kill the spectators 'interest and overall popularity would suffer. Even MSD conceded, during the recently concluded India-Australia series, that what spectators are watching is 4s and 6s and he is unsure which direction the game is headed for.
Arjuna is spot on when he says kids are not going to pick the ball specially in Asia as they are going to grow watching bowlers getting clobbered all over the park on the docile sub-continent pitches and batsmen getting treated like a princes by the media.

Ranatunga is Wrong

How can he show so much of confidence on Indian batsmen in alien conditions? If bowlers are not good enough, batsmen are also going to struggle!

cricket is no more a sport

Cricket has become a mere Bollywood movie wherein the rule are always favoured batsman. like a Bollywood movie, batsman is hero, bowler is a villain and ICC/BCCI are directors. Rules are made only to entertain and not for competition. Not only the rule favours batsman, even the pitches are prepared to favour batsman. There is no doubt that the Ranatungas fear will come true. Already India indian cricket is effected since it is not able to produce any bowlers. Gone are the days of good cricket and gone are the days of great bowlers such as Kapil, Holding, Marshal, garner, McGrath, Wasim Akram,Ambrose, walsh and other bowling legends. Without great bowlers, cricket is no more a sport but a Bollywood masala movie. Save the sport, save cricket.

he is a frustrated vily politician who even the srilankans don't like and who was a very mean player and person in his playing days and hence rantings from a person like him should be ignored thoroughly .
