no doubt sachin is gd crickter and gentleman but he always played for records and out of 50 centuries he scord in tests may b 5 r 6 of them helped india either to win or draw a test but rest of them are useless same in one day the artificial hype that is created for him by the media is baseless. In fact of all his contemporaries vvs and dravid are best they played for country and not for statistics when compared to his 50 centuraries th double century scored by laxman in eden gardens against australia is enough. It would have been better had GOI awarded Bharat ratna jointly to Laxman and Dravid

very very true. goi does not have the brains which you possess. actually only you know that only 5 or 6 centuries helped india win matches. now go to govt of pakistan and ask them to give a joint award to laxman and dravid.

Spot on ! Tendulkar played for Tendulkar. Dravid, VVS Laxman, Kapil Dev etc played for the country. How many matches did Sachin win for India ?
Sachin is a great player, not doubt about it, but he is not worthy of Bharat Ratna. If it is given for sports and that to for cricket it should have been to Kapil Dev, who made Indians believe that Indians had the world champions in them, which in turn had made cricket to flourish in India and the confidence in them to take on great teams.

I agree for once with Tiwari on this issue.DC definitely a deserving candidate ahead of Sachin. The sycophants of 10'Janpath are already giving reasons for overruling recommendations of Sports ministry that includes the rotund & ammoral Shukla.if Dhyan Chand is too big for awar then why did you give it to Indira,Nehru & Rajiv?

Though I agree that Bharat Ratna should have been given to Dhyan Chand, let me speak haters logic just to frustrate people who hate Sachin. Tiwari says "Unlike Dhyan Chand, Sachin Tendulkar was not playing free of cost. Sachin has made crores of rupees by helping corporates to market cricket in the country”.
Now, did Dhyan Chand do anything for the economy? We can say that he did for himself and his passion towards the game but it did not help India's economy :-)

No doubt SRT is great player and person who has made millions happy across the country and world. But but It's not team India, it's team BCCI. SRT did not represent India rather BCCI. So Bharat Ratna should not be awarded to him.

Yes there should've been a greatest award for sport lot more precise than Arjuna, and should be given to SRT. Not Bharat Ratna..
