Bharat ratna??
by Raja on Nov 18, 2013 10:23 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin is a genius in sport but to give him bharat ratna is not sensible decision..just imagine he is the 43rd person to be honored bharat ratna since inception of this award...is there no one who is more eligible than him...no doctors in the list who saves many lives..no jawans who have fought for our nation....what is the need to give him the award by surpassing so many ppl who have served this nation.....I feel vajpayee must have been awarded before sachin.....

100% correct. Please note that Cricket is not a real sporting event but an entertaining event. Moreover the big nations like US,USSR,GERMANY,FRANCE,ITALY,CHINA,JAPAN,KOREA,BRASIL,ARGENTINA,SPAIN,and many more does not understand the spirit of this idle man's funy game.We Indians are still fools when this valuable award is conferred to sachin who is nothing but a true entertainer.

in today's time, even the likes of Gandhi/Nehru/Ambedkar are questioned by useless souls who themselves are good for nothing, so there wont be unanimity when it comes to such awards. but to my mind, his greatest achievement has been giving hope to Indians pre-IT era when we sincerely thought that we are a use less country.

Question of the day
by satyanarayan rai on Nov 18, 2013 10:16 AM  | Hide replies

Like everybody else I'm also crazy for cricket and great fan of SRT. The way he played the game and gave millions smiles to people around the country and world is phenomenal. He deserves all love and praises. But, But my question is about awarding him Bharat Ratna. As so called Indian cricket team is not at all India eleven and it represents BCCI. So technically SRT has not represented India on grounds but only has represented BCCI. Remember rift between Govt. & BCCI in sending full fledged team to Asian or commonwealth games and Canada. BCCI prefered Canada Sahara Cup instead Nation representation of the country either of two world events. So technically awarding a Bharat Ratna to SRT is wrong.

Sachin

Sachin is certainly the greatest sportsperson India has seen. He deserves Bharat Ratna. Its given to a person for performance of highest order in any field of human endeavour according to wikipedia. But when I do look at the list of Bharat ratna awardees, it baffles me to see names like Indira Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi. What have they done for the country to receive such an award? Is Rahul Gandhi next in line? I wont b shocked if Rahul Gandhi receives it next time instead of Dhyan chand and other deserving people.
