Not sure why there is so much of hype around Sachin's retirement, in cricketing circles and media. Probably they are afraid that Sachin might decide to return if he isn't given a grand farewell :-)

Whatever you say Sir, almost all of us were fed up of this legend clinging to the team. I can imagine what kind of a sigh of relief young cricketers would have had after hearing the news of his retirement :-)

I don't stand to gain anything if he retires or lose something if he continues until he's 100 years old :-) I'm just sharing the feelings of people and how tired they are with his clinging attitude. In general, tickets are not available for any cricket match played in any city of our country, because that's the only sport people like you, their mamasAndChachas like to watch, for whatever reasons :-)

except vada paav marathis, other people are relieved that this selfish money greedy Tendulkar has been shown the door in the guise of farewell.

Oh yaa so Alok Kumar I guess you are saying only Marathis enjoyed his game and no one else. But since your last name is Kumar I guess you must be some Bihari or UPwala and your states will never produce greats like Sachin only crooks & garbage. We are proud of Sachin not because he is a Maharashtrian because he did it for the country. As far as Santa is concerned let me tell you I neither my mama & chachas watch cricket all the time, you cannot share the feeling of people, what you are voicing is your opinion bcoz you knw you will not be able to achieve even 1% of this....
Ponting , Waugh , Kallis ,Dravid , Arvinda , Imran , Botham , Kapil , lara , Sangakkara have awesome records & achievements greater than anybodoy. Their achievements look even greater when you realise that they did not get entry at the age of 16 , did not play for 23 yearsdid not enjoy the patronage of their boards , did not have the guarantee of not being dropped if failed & had destroyed opposition in their own backyard. Still they wewre graceful enough to call it a day when they realised that younger generation needs to be handed over the baton. That is why people respect them . They or their supporters did not urge anybody to respect.Due to Kumble, perhaps, India had more wins. Ne one acknowledges these greats more so wiht this maddening disgusting sachin's retiremnt hype!!!

Might be. For people starved of entertainment, he might have provided some. But he has given "hand" so many times, resulting in heart breaks and heart attacks :-)
