People are over reacting to sachin retirement...To release a stamp is top of it all...no doubt he has been great sportsman but to say he has served 20 yrs in cricket is too much...has he done it without getting paid...or has he done any service for the people...what is the need to release the stamp...there are some many jawans who have laid their lives fighting for us and had the govt done anything of this sort to honour them ...

If you give protection to a player, it will damage your reputation. Hope you Know Enfield Motorcyle. Govt. gave lot of subsidy to that company and asked the Military, Navy and Police to buy Enfiled Vehicle. Now you know where is Enfield Company. Simlarly Tendulkar is given lot of protection in making him test squad, even if his performance is below par.

Performance is not below par Sheetal. But, certainly there has been dip in his performance in the last 3 years. He should hv retired after WC2011 win in Wankhede. Anewez, his retirement is overhyped. It gives the impression that Saurav ganguly, and Rahul Dravid are nowhere b4 Sachin. But the fact is that as far as building of Team India is concerned both hv more contribution than Sachin. Sachin, due to his long career has compiled runs and record on his name.

"Moderator" is a misnomer, actually. (S)he is Extreme in his/her likings and doesn't take criticism of his favourites sportingly.
