Everybody knows why the weakest Test cricket team has come to India to play just 2 test matches (this is the time when Team India should had been in South Africa to play the scheduled 4 tests and 5 ODIs). West Indies team mus have been given the money that they can not earn in the whole life for just passing their time in these 2 tests for Tendulkar.

Shame on BCCI for this fake show for just one cricketer who has no contribution for the country.

Look how West Indians got out so cheaply and 2 Indian batsmen threw their wickets so that Tendulkar comes out. And look how they are bowling to him, clearly seems they do not want him bowl out.

Cricket is a private game managed by Corporates and consumer companies in India to serve their commercial interest, so this game is heavily manipulated. The so called Indian cricket team is actually BCCI XI.It has no recognition in the world of sport.

The only thing that is now lacking is a temple dedicated to Sachin Tendulkar. With all the adulations being poured on him, the only thing I fear is that he does not postpone his decision to retire indefinitely

Prey to Flattery
by Felix Diaz on Nov 14, 2013 07:23 PM  | Hide replies

I personally feel that Sachin is flattered by the foreign countries. Having traveled and lived abroad many countries, notion about India is a boasting for nothing' country and bragging for fame. India has in her history used 'best in the world'phrase and continues to use it. See CWGames, stadiums, people, Mr Singh, Mr Actor, Mr Rich, Miss World, Taj Mahal claims, etc. And it may hurt us Indians that Sachin is one of them. I think it amounts to mockery behind the say. Is it hype created by the paid media?. Why is there so much cry in a sportsman, when it does no good to the common man or to the country in its economic welfare. Any opinions?.

Our politicians are responsible for economic welfare of country, not sachin! At least sachin has provided happiness to millions. It is not a paid media, sachin was a superstar when there is no internet, from doordarshan times, We love him, our love for him doesn't come by from any paid media people and we believe none of them have no right to speak about him.
One for Sachin's Million fans

Is economic welfare of a nation the only thing? How does Mars mission by India do anything for poor peoples economic welfare? It doesn't but its important. Successful people in any endeavor inspire and help the youth and do a lot of good for the nation and Sachin is one of them. There is no doubt he has been an inspiration for the young india like no one else and that's why the recognition.

Well said, but he played for 25 years and has youth so far got any inspiration. Has any current cricketer said that he is today because of Sachins inspiration?. Inspiration is sports and sports itself is entertainment. It is not education, not economy related, etc. Tell me how much has Sachin done good for the common man apart from his entertainment. You must have seen our wrestler live biting the ear of the other in the finals (camera was zoomed--ear bleeding, wrestler pointing to the bite), and the same wrestler had done India proud. Note our wrestler won immediately after the bite when the opponent gave up in pain. Also, remember the news that Sachin told the taxman that he is an actor rather than a cricketer in order to avoid/reduce income tax. So are we having inspiration from an actor or a cricketer.

Not only great budding cricketers even many common people say that they've been inspired by Sachin's way of simple living, high thinking ideals, success and prosperity. You may not know but Sachin is the livelihood of many charitable institutions for orphans, destitute women, old people. May be you aren't one of them. For that you've to understand sport. You've to understand the commitment a sportsman puts to represent his country. It is a great achievement; not just entertainment as you're saying. All sportsmen - whether a wrestler or a cricketer are doing a great thing of honour. If other sports are not getting valued its not Sachin's fault. So take his name with respect. Thank you!

Those cricketers who say that they were inspired Sachin, are just flattering to come in media. They are told to do so. Otherwise, they never say they were inspired to get two back to back whitewashes and a series loss at home.

up the man perfectly and every single word resonates with everyone. Whoever who wrote those words must have been a genius!
Reams and reams of ink have been spent dissecting, analysing, divulging, writing about Sachin Tendulkar, but these following lines by the BBC on him are in a league of its own: 'Beneath the helmet, under that unruly curly hair, inside the cranium, there is something we don't know, something beyond scientific measure. Something that allows him to soar, to roam a territory of sport that, forget us, even those who are gifted enough to play alongside him cannot even fathom. When he goes out to bat, people switch on their TV sets and switch off their lives.'
Never before in the annals of the game has there been a cricketer who can be compared to Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. He is simply incomparable. Bats like a dream. Bowls whatever you want him to - offspin, legspin, googlies, flippers, medium pace, heck he can even bowl fast if he applied his mind to it. Fields anywhere. Is ambidextrous while throwing and he is not your typical, 'Jack of all, master of none.' He is a champion in whatever he does on the field. What more can you ask from a cricketer?
Talking about impact, Sachin's career has overlapped with many people's lives - including mine - they have grown up with him and hero-worshipped him. A nation did in fact. Such was his aura and presence at the crease, that I distinctly remember many switching off their TV sets once he got out in the 90s. The o

The only question that used to be on everyone's lips was whether Sachin was there at the crease - if he wasn't, the game ended right there for them. No-one can lay claim to such a craze!
Ever since he came into the national consciousness as a chubby 16-year old teenager in 1989, for the next 24 years he has ruled the hearts of a nation. A nation of more than a billion have been charmed, enchanted and mesmerised by the exploits of one Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. He has been the darling of the masses and the classes alike. A nation has been spoilt rotten over the greatness of this man. Such has been his impact.

The greatest batsman of the modern era. Champion. Pioneer. A nations heartbeat. One-man army in the 90s. Gentleman. Astounding persona. Role-model. An inspiration. An ambassador. Peerless. A run-machine. Once in a generation cricketer. Once in a lifetime batsman. Unblemished record as an individual on the field. Rare. Precious. A diamond. India's Kohinoor.
