lolz, very true :)

Chanderpaul has been an huge "underachiever". With his rocksolid defense, he was expected to be the Dravid of West Indies but has failed miserably IMO. It was interesting to note your mentioning of the very less number of times he was bowled (strengthening his solid defense).. I have a West Indian acquaintance who once claimed that Chanderpaul was unlucky to be in a generation where WI went to the dumps. But I dont remember WI being so dependent on this guy (with due respect to his achievements).. Or am I mistaken?

yes, they have very different styles and are very different players. it's highly unlikely chanderpaul could learn any element of the game from him. and yes his solidity (maybe the squarish stance?) allows him to get bowled very less, chanderpaul has been bowled like only 10.95% of times, while compare that with sachin and dravid being 18.31% and 21.65% resp. ..you're actually right. chanderpaul is never a match winner , while it is also true that he has often been left down by his teammates. at the most he can provide some very good resistance even as his teammates fall left and right, but that bit is very interesting how he's able to defend, probably the best in the world in my opinion..however, windies have NOT benefitted from him being at the crease for all these years, nor has he managed to inspire anybody. basically, chanderpaul just thinks and plays for himself , notwithstanding the match scenario

Yup, dint want to use the word "selfish" because it has been patented by 2 Indian cricketers, one who will be retiring in a week and another who is at the helm of his affairs now :)

haha..maybe there's some similarity after all. AT LEAST holding & co. have had the guts to speak that on live tv, unlike our fanboy plebs. always love to listen to people who speak from the heart..
