"he will devote time to parliament"?

As what?

A sweeper?

He can barely read and write!

He had to use his thumb impression to finalize his first endorsement deal!

If he would not have married a well-educated and smart woman like Dr. Anjali, he would have ended up like his friend Vinod Kambli!

Sachin obviously was as gifted as Kambli. But he had more discipline and was also fortunate to have had so much support. Kambli had the same talent. Without the same background and strong support and mental discipline, Kambli ended up not so great a player.

Sachin was allowed to dedicate his life to the game. He was given the luxury. If he had applied his work ethic and brains, he would have achieved more than any software coolie in these forums...

half knowledge of history makes people fool at times.

For your information Sachin's father was a noted writer and sachin spent his childhood at Sahitya sahwas - a housing colony of all good writers. The humility that we see in him today comes to him from sanskars that he received.
WELL BEFORE HIS MARRIAGE HE WAS CALLED A LEGEND. In short he coudn't have gone the vinod kambli way with or without a doctor as wife.

Wow!

What an argument!

Just because his father was a writer, Sachin is literate?

You mean to say that just because your father is educated, you don't need to get educated because your genes will take care of it?!

And how would you know what his life would be if he had not married Dr. Anjali?

They don't say "There is a woman behind a successful man" for nothing!

Kambl got married to some illiterate female and now he behaves like Pappu!

Whereas, Sachin is confident and smooth around people who are much more educated than him because he has been trained to be like that by his wife!

Why are you fretting over somebody who has achieved a million times more than you evena s a 16 year old. HAve you observed in Indian countryside,,, Dogs bark at the sun and run to chase the sun. Sun is not going away. It will shine.

What is in book is knowledge. Sachin probably had more of it already and also the wisdom to apply more than what is in books...

@ sundernath at one stage you're saying he is illustrate and misfit in parliament (which by the way is populated maximum by illiterate and on the other hand " Whereas, Sachin is confident and smooth around people who are much more educated than him because he has been trained to be like that by his wife!" so make up your mind or get trained by your wife if she is literate.

He is not going to do anything like that!

He is already being trained by his doctor wife to be a compounder in her clinic!

She is already having a tough time with the training because Sachin reads and writes at a 5 year old's level!

Instead of making grandiose statements about his post retirement prospects, let us all pray for his wife and hope that she is successful in making a honest and competent compounder out of her husband!

November 18, 2013 will be a day long remembered with a huge sigh of relief as it will be the day Indian Cricket will have finally dumped baggage that had been burdening it for 24 years!

With this sachin hype it would be better for BCCI and Star TV to make a 'Star Sachin Channel'. No wonder why India is flop show in other sports.

agree 1000% with you...he is not leaving on his own terms....if he wanted no publicity, he should have announced on the final day of his last test....not created tamasha and then making hypocritical statements, that CAB is going ovrboard with his retirement. That's the difference between Kumble, Dravid or VVS and him!
