A bowler bags 9 wickets for 100 odd runs and you give MOM to a batsman? No wonder quality bowlers have become rare species in our country. Replace bowlers with bowling machines and award the batsman who hits longest six in every match.

Since a long time there is demand for separate man of the match award for batting and bowling in test matches. Sami deserved in his first match to get this award. The whole team played well.

Though Shami should have got the award, the fact that Rohit played a huge role in lifting India from 83/5 to 450 tilts the points in his favour. Had Rohit not scored that much, Shami would have got very less to defend. WI batsmen could even have attacked Indian bowling had they got an handsome lead. WI has a fearsome batting order, all can clear the boundary (though they are more suited for T20 than tests).

because Sachin was blocking youngsters and all his fans were saying that no youngster can replace him! All good things must come to an end...that's how life is....
