Fixing is another type of corruption

The IPL is a contract. This country have been spoiled by the courruption in the contract whereby you do not get the desired product/services/result.IPL or any sport for that matter if indulging in such illegal activities, should be banned.

why should be banned
by venkatesh prabhu on Jun 04, 2013 11:54 AM

whether there is spot fixing / match fixing people are enjoying. some masala entertainment with big people's money is exhibited for public entertainment. Publics are enjoying it. why to ban. if truly to be viewed all games in world or in India betting is going on in house or in public. Not to ban i feel we should enjoy if we donot take it personal.

IPl Cricket Circus

IPL should be scrapped immediately as it has not served the purpose it was intended. They have stolen the concept from ICL without bothering to ever acknowledge it and it was meant to give a platform to players who have been slogging for so many years and not getting the chance either to get noticed for their efforts nor earn some money to offset the amount they or rather their parents have invested in this game. It is definitely not meant for players who are already earning so much that it is difficult for them to count the zeroes in their pay checks and added to it we have this gang of shameless officials cutting across different political parties blessed with skins tougher than any tanner can achieve in factory.

CRICKET - IPL AND OTHER GAMES LIKE TRI SERIES ETC.
by CHANDRAKANT PARIKH on Jun 03, 2013 11:36 AM

AT THIS JUNCTURE I WOULD LIKE TO REMEMBER THE CRICKET GAME OF OLDEN DAYS WHERE FAMOUS PLAYERS LIKE VIJAY MERCHANT,VINOO MANKAND,HAZARE,NARI CONTRACTOR AND OTHERS PLAYED THE GAME IN A HONEST MANNER FOR THE COUNTRY.THEY WERE GETTING VERY NOMINAL PAYMENT FOR THEIR PART IN THE GAME. IN CONTRAST TODAY THE PLAYERS ARE TRADED/AUCTIONED LIKE HORSE TRADING YET THEY ARE ASHAMED OF THIS. OVER AND ABOVE THEY MINT HUGE MONEY FROM COMMERCIAL ADVERTISEMENTS.DESPITE THIS THEY ARE SO GREEDY THAT JUST FOR EASY MONEY THEY ALLOW BETTING ON THEIR PLAY AT THE COST OF NATIONAL IMAGE, BUT THE REAL CULPRITS ARE BEHIND THE CURTAIN. ALL THE OFFICE BEARERS OF CCI,BCCI,IPL AND STATE LEVEL CRICKET BOARDS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS NATIONAL SHAME. THE GAME OF CRICKET SHOULD BE BANNED IN THE COUNTRY AT LEAST FOR NEXT 10 YEARS AND ALL THOSE WHO ARE INVOLVED IN THIS TYPE OF BETTING AND HORSE TRADING SHOULD BE STRICTLY PUNISHED IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR AGE,POSITION ETC.

Sports in India....
by Chandan on Jun 02, 2013 07:35 PM

are like oil and water. There is no sportsmanship in Indians. IPL and all other sports should be banned in India. India did a great thing by getting itself banned from Olympics. Better than getting humiliated every four years. Indians are too much into regionalism and empire building. It is a shame. Let us clean our act our first. We have a four tier society.

BAN IPL?
by Bt Salian on Jun 02, 2013 06:00 PM

Toughest punishment to the Sreesanths, Chandilas, Chavans, Gurunaths and the bookies should do a good work of clensing the corrupt-ridden IPL. Let there be no talk on banning IPL. There are some hard-working young cricketers, particularly from the rural India who should be encouraged rather than thinking of banning IPL. It is like curing a cold affected nose by cutting the nose itself. Treat the nose, but cut it.

Black money and cricke
by kp harindran on Jun 02, 2013 02:32 PM

It is a well known fact that the IPL has become a platform for the business people, under ground, betting mafia, politicians, cinema stars etc to turn their black money into white. They have already achieved their target. Nothing will happen to them if IPL is banned.

Ban IPL for 2 years?
by soma varma on Jun 02, 2013 01:15 PM

IPL has brought the game to its worst reputation..it has now been reduced to a game of skin show, pimped betting and gamble. It should be banned once and for all before the epidemic spreads to other games in different ways, if it has not already happened!
