Sachin- destined not to be retired
by on May 30, 2013 12:16 PM  | Hide replies

The only thing Sachin must play attacking instead of defensive and u shall see laurels would start flourish. Now Sachin should play for the sake of cricket...In 20-20 we expected Ponting would help Sachin to break Gaylstorm and Surely 175 is not far from Sachin's reach

How long you expect him to keep playing and making tons. I thought he had enough to his kitty. Why playing against Railways, Dockyard teams.. and making century and getting award for that too? Looks like he will never leave cricket and I am sure cricket will never leave him too.

well, rahane & rohit sharma had been awarded for fastest hundreds in 2011 and 2012. did you people make a hue & cry about why it was given to them?

infact it seems that you guys pass such comments on seeing sachin's name. dravid retired from ipl, nobody was bothered. but sachin retired from ipl and we saw a huge wave of comments, for and against him. this gives him free publicity :-). that is something which you may not like, isnt it? personally, i would not like to see/speak about a person who i dont like.

Actually, you need to understand the difference between great or something miracle like Sachin and very good like Dravid.

It's a shame that....
by adam smith on May 30, 2013 09:57 AM  | Hide replies

...only we Indians denigrate our heroes. People commenting on Sachin in an insulting manner are those who have never seen him play in his younger days or those who have never achieved anything worthwhile in their own lives.

Granted that Sachin was not the Sachin of a few years ago, his reflexes had slowed down - age does that to all, but one cannot take away his achievements.

We Indians lament that the world does not respect us. How will it? When we ourselves do not respect ourselves and our heroes.

Unfortunately, most of the comments on these pages are negative and abusive - whatever the subject. On corruption and such things, one can understand....BUT rubbishing our own heroes who won laurels for the country? THIS IS A REAL SHAME!

Look,no one is criticizing Sachin unnecessarily. He is one of the greatest cricketers if not the greatest. You have admitted that his reflexes have gone down with age.We all grow old and should know when to quit so that others can fill the gap.It is better to go on a high than to be dropped. But for his larger than life he would have been dropped long back by BCCI.Sachin is still loved by all and is our greatest icon. But he will have to take some hard decisions shortly.Good he has quit IPL.Imran Khan was right when he said that the best time for Sachin to have gone was after winning the World Cup.Just like no one wants to talk against Srinivasan people also don't want to talk about Sachin too much.

what does clean bowled mean?? is there anything like dirty bowled or unclean bowled? you can just mention it as bowled. that record he has because he has played in more matches than anybody else.

FYI, Jayasuriya has more ducks than Sachin in all 3 formats.
