Mr. SG - Please Clarify
by DEBABRATA DEY on May 30, 2013 07:35 PM  | Hide replies

Mr. SG, Please clarify:-
1. On 24/5 Gurunath was arrested. All credentials of Gurunath including his profile was erased from the website of CSK & India Cements by the insistence of.....why?
2. On 26/5, NS in Kolkata Press Conference claimed that Gurunath was a honorary member of CSK only.....do you agree?
3. Should we disregard the e-mail of IPL6 Chairman Rajiv Shulka to Team Owners (Gurunath was addressed as CEO/Owner of CSK)for a workshop.
4. Should we disregard the findings of Mumbai Police after raid of Gurunath's house at Chennai that came out in Media reports?
5. Position of BCCI Chief is too high. Since Gurunath is the son-in-law of NS, it is his moral duty to step down till the investigation is completed freely without any internal pressure.....do you agree?
6. As a good human being, if NS has an iota of moral values he should step down.....do you agree?

gavaskar's statment
by ravisankar visvanathan on May 30, 2013 02:43 PM  | Hide replies

did anyone really expect mr gavaskar to openly opine castigate mr srinivasan or bcci. he knows that people who stay in glass houses do not throw stones at others. remember the 2000 scandal in which huge amount of money including foreign currency was recovered from mr gavaskar's locker in mumbai gymkhana and the entire issue was hushed up and brushed under the carpet.. how can such an individual take a position against mr srinivasan.

Gavaskar's statement
by gopalakrishnan caruthedath on May 30, 2013 01:53 PM

If it is not "self interest" or what else one can say about Mr.Sunil Gavaskar's stand on Mr.Srinivasan quitting the Chairmanship of the BCCI. Well done Mr.Gavaskar.

As for the bias in regard to the selection of the two members of the Enquity Committee from South, it was only his creation and nobody has mentioned about. Let me remind Mr.Gavaskar it all started with the cricketers themselves (and not cricket enthusiast) about the bias in selection from players from various regions. How can he forget at one time the Indian Eleven was represented almost by Mumbai players. Please don't argue for argument sake.

Souls are sold out.....
by VASUDEVAN V on May 30, 2013 09:15 AM

Let us be very clear on one count. The souls of our ex-cricketers are sold out and Gavaskar is no exception to that. Ravi Shastri and Gavaskar have been given some post in the BCCI with a huge pay check! Why should they criticize the BCCI and lose the pay check which they get for doing nothing. This is how Srinivasan has bought the silence of all the ex-cricketers, by doling out money from the BCCI. The only thing Indians have is patience and they have been cheated time and again by our politicians and by our cricketers for exhibiting this patience. Irrespective of whether the probe will be fair or not on Srinivasan stepping aside, the Board President should step aside as his son-in-law is directly involved in the probe and his India Cements team (CSK) was under the helm of his son-in-law whether Srinivasan admits it or not. Since the legends and icons of the game have sold out their souls to BCCI and Srinivasan, we cannot expect anything better from the likes of Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Sivaramakrishnan and others! These people have taken the people of India and the cricket fans for granted and have no qualms about cheating them repeatedly!

Gavaskar is brand ambassador of Dubai based Danube !!
by pankaj s on May 30, 2013 08:54 AM

Everyone here should know that gavaskar is brand ambassdor of dubai based building material company danube. It looks fishy as danube could have easily find any other indian cricketer, why they took mr. gavaskar as their brand ambassador at such an old age.Looks something fishy right? Danube owner is a muslim from mumbai who was working as a salesman few years back and within short period of time danube is no.1 in uae. Such a success within short period of time is not possible for oridinary businessman, one requires backing of solid person behind him. So who is such person?

greatest fixers
by Sunil Vaidya on May 30, 2013 08:29 AM  | Hide replies

are actually those people who indulge in betting....therefore it is not cricketers or administrators but those indian cricket fans who bet and try to make money...many of the posters here like shikari shambu...if these fans and these posters are arrested and put in jail for betting then only the sport will be free of fixing...

till these people who place bets and try to earn money including thousands of the posters here who do the same are arrested and punished this thing will not end...

ss you are changing ur statements each and every time you talk about it...

if i remember correctly the first time you said that you had lost something close to 20000rs betting first on mi and later csk winning the ipl...and nowhere did you mention that it was with your brother that you betted...this happened some time ago...

but to my post of today on another page you claimed that it was with your brother that you betted and the amount invovled was only 1000 rs.

and now you are claiming you did not place ANY bets at all and if you indeed did that it was not at all for money...and this is all my imagination...

ss 3 times you wrote about it and 3 times you claimed different things...

whom are you trying to fool ss? at least be honest with yourself...

On the contrary, you are changing your statements each time. when i explained today morning, you said it cannot be a bet and can be called a "friendly wager".
I did not get 20k salary in 2008. how can i bet such a huge amount. and while arguing anywhere, why should i drag my personal life into the context. why should anyone be bothered whether i have a "friendly wager" with my brother or uncle or anybody else? if you would not have accused me falsely, i would not mention about my brother even now.

First you be honest with yourself, read and understand properly instead of blaming others.

ss, on the contrary it is you should think about what you want to write before writing it...it seems as if you are confused and it seems you want to write one thing and actually write something else...i am not changing my statements at all...i only said that if indeed the bet placed was between you 2 brothers only then it does not come under the term betting as is generally perceived...in what way are you claiming that i changed my statement?

For argument sake, lets consider that i dont know how to write properly. Even taklu has the same problem with you and he has mentioned it at times that you assume things. Surya das has the same problem with you. I am sure some others might have told you this. So, do you think all of us who say this are wrong and only you are correct?

1. You are speaking about some imaginary figure of 20k. What have I got to do with your imagination? Even 10 years down the lane, I can say I had a friendly wager of 1k with my brother. Dont try to force your opinion on me. I am the one who had challenged him, I am the one who had to pay the price for it. Dont come up with fiction.

2. You said it does not come under the term betting as it is perceived. So, how can this case be called a BET when only 2 of us are involved? 8.29am about fixing you say "it is not cricketers or administrators but those indian cricket fans who bet and try to make money". 9.47am you contradict yourself saying "yes the cricketers and administrators are as guilty as the fans who indulge in such organised crimes, if they also do the same thing". Now whom are YOU trying to fool?

ss, what your salary is has nothing to do with how much amount you bet...for all i know it is out of your savings that you bet or perhaps you borrowed money from somebody so you can bet...

ss, what salary one gets has nothing to do with the amount of money he wants to or ultimately bets...

let me point to you there have been incidents where people have stolen money committed frauds.... kidnapped or murdered peole to get money to get out of the debts incurred due to betting as has been reported many times in many newspapers or serials like crime patrol...

that is not to say that i accuse of doing such things...but only as a reply to your query that how you can bet so much when your salary was not 20000 at that time...

ss, people dont necessarily bet within thier income limits...i repeat i am not accusing that you did such things are going to do only answering your question...

Your justification is ok, but without knowing the whole story how can you say "many of the posters here like shikari shambu...if these fans and these posters are arrested and put in jail for betting then only the sport will be free of fixing...". When you dont know something about somebody, it makes sense not to assume things about them.

Who is meiyappan? A cricket fan or a poster or administrator? Tell me, even if betting is legalized, wont cricketers be lured by some or the other bookie. The cricketers & administrators are as guilty as the fans who indulge in such organized crimes. Dont you think there is something wrong in the IPL even after spot fixing and other scandals are tearing cricket apart?

rajiv kumar it is not about ipl...it is about people...wherever people are involved there greed will take over at some point of time...yes the cricketers and administrators are as guilty as the fans who indulge in such organised crimes, if they also do the same thing...but so far only meiyappan is accused and against whom police have found evidence...i think instead of blaming everybody for fixing you should wait till it is proved or at least evidnece is found...let me point it is against meiyappan against whom evidence is found...so for now you can blame only him...wait some time before passing judgements against srini, dhoni fleming rahul or whoever....proving one persons guilt does not making other people guilty...

rajiv kumar whether cricketers and administrators are guilty or not till people indulge in bettting this cycle wont stop...

like i said it is about people and not ipl...wherever there people and whereever greed takes over anything are everything will be tore apart...not ONLY cricket....but EACH and EVERY FIELD where people are involved...

ipl is run by people and not spirits. cricketers and administrators are as human as people are. it is natural that the bcci president, ipl chairman and other such big names by held responsible for their own departments.

Agree. We call for the head of PM or CM if something wrong is going on in his regime. MMS was asked to step down because of his inability to control the govt and not because he was accused of scams.
