betting is a every minute affair in india
by L Sridhar on May 28, 2013 10:40 PM

in india every minute there is one of betting or other taking place including how many dead bodies arrive in manikantha ghat in varanasi in a particular period. even now lottery numbering betting is taking place all over tamil nadu and karnataka based on kerala lottery results and crores of money is being taken without any taxes. what if they are caught they will cough up rs 500 for the first offence and come out clean. its better to legalise betting and let government earn few thousand crores as taxes atleast. if this is allowed even small time crimes will come down all over india and this is a proven statement and all in police and government department knows about this too. see how kerala government is earning profits in lotteries and similar methods other governments can follow. this way atleast government can earn additional resources for state exchequers.

Nothing is going to happen to these crooks. Just see after some days when everyone will forget these issues, all these people will come out. Everyone Knows the reason why these people will be freed. This is just a show off to the public.

Media gone crazy
by Kabadan Y on May 28, 2013 09:17 PM

There is a hidden agenda behind media, police chasing this IPL news like leeches. Where was this commitment when Anna and his team were trying to bring the government on the mat against very very serious corruption allegations which incidentally targets the very fabric of our nation. This is stupidity to run this news item with such veracity and looks like the media is feeling left out of the IPL honey pie.

India has been undergoing to much scam & corruption, which is affecting the common man. The govt instead of focusing to clean up this, seems to be attracted to this issue....

Is this to divert attention of public from scam & corruptions....

very true. The nation has witnessed the horse trading on the floor of parliament when voting was taking place on a ' no confidence motion ' moved against Mr. MMS. The UPA wants to divert the attention of public and drag the government to its full term. The nation is watching how fast attachments were made of the properties of Mr.Gali Janardan Reddy and how they are acting in the case of Mr.Y.S.Jagan where some token attachments were made. When the rulers are alledged to be corrupt, why not the subjects? Law should be the same to the rulers and ruled.

When betting on horses is legal then why not this?
I don't think this is big issue as big as rape, murder or even robbery.
People who put money do it for fun and know they will lose.If those particular freaks lose money then why whole India shd go crazy.
Not sure.

It is not betting alone - but match and spot fixing. The term "betting" is being repeatedly used by all concerned - from BCCI to Rahul Dravid - to trivialise the whole matter.

Once all arrests are done by the Mumbai & Delhi Police, they have decided to to start a tournament. Mr Srinivasan will be the non- playing coach. The two teams will be Arthur Road Warriors & Tihar Daredevils. Umpire : Mr Gurunath & Mr Dawood Ibrahim (if he is not coming his place may be taken by Mr Vindoo Dara Singh)
