Why Helpless?
by usha sundaram on May 24, 2013 07:32 PM

Cricket fans are not helpless. They should boycott all, repeat all matches. This way we can hurt their pocket books. Hit him where it hurts and they will listen. Criket fans are scattered. If they unite and take them head long, Cricket fans will win. I have no doubts about it.

This is good; very good. If all of us do the same, viewership will decline so rapidly, even advertisers in TV and sponsors at the venues will withdraw support for this type of illegal activity. Every Indian at every nook and corners of India must boycott IPL and other matches. Let us follow what Mahatma Gandhi did to the British - Civil Disobedience. Similarly we can do Civil Boycott of cricket matches. Stay united ans stay strong. Let us kick this goons ones and for all from cricket.

Another Law
by arvind kayan on May 24, 2013 04:30 PM

Yet another round of talks, commission, investigation and finally a draft bill which might see the light some day. The simple fact is that BCCI cannot deny its role, willing or unwilling, in this fixing.
They were in denial all these years. Now they rush to Mr. Sibal. They refused to come under RTI. They refuted all charges till date. If they were correct, what was the need to plead now. What law will prevent them from fixing matches in future if they and their players themselves cannot control their act.
This is just another move to hush up the whole issue as many big names will be involved. They will form another committee, prepare and propose n Act, hold it at ransom in the Parliament and during this period the game will go on as usual.
