Sad to see instant verdict on Sreesanth!
by nisha thoas on May 17, 2013 12:04 PM  | Hide replies

I am not a big cricket fan, neither am I a fan of Sreesanth. But after reading this transcript, it appears that just because one of the bookies was his cousin, the whole country seems to have branded him as a match fixer and betrayer of the nation! This is sickening to say the least. Also sickening, and saddening at the same time, was the pictures in the newspaper, where Sree was made to wear a black mask and taken to police station, and his effigies being burnt. As if he were a hardened criminal. He seems to have been caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, and because of his naivety(immaturity), been framed and made the scapegoat! All the newschannels lost no time in passing their verdicts with Mr goswami leading the pack. Its disturbing to see we as a nation ready to pass instant verdicts without concrete evidences and before the law has taken its course. Even if he cleared, the damege has been done, and he'll have to live out the rest of his life under a heavy cloud. Sad!

nisha, i agree whole heartedly.. this is the typical behaviour of us mallus.. we cant see another mallu doing well..
if the same thing happened to bhajji or some tamil nadu player, the state govt would have created soo much drama.. unfortuntely, sreesanth is a keralite so he will get no help from any quarter.. always from day 1 all we are interested is in making jokes about him and so on..
Im in melbourne, australia and as part of a charity program we donated criket kits to upcoming youngsters in kerala who were good in cricket but couldnt afford proper gear.. you can see photos on the ceremony on facebook.. most of the boys said only one thing; the only person that supports them whole heartedly is sreesanth.. everyone who has met sreesanth would agree .. he's a gem of a person.. very jovial .. hard to digest all this stories coming out in the media..

Towel on waist means you are a fixer ?
by Ashish Deshpande on May 17, 2013 12:02 PM  | Hide replies

Sree wearing a towel while bowling ? does this mean fixing ? if Yes, many bowlers do this, then are all bowlers fixing ?

Need voice evidence againt Sree. Not guilty unless proven.

Audio tapes are being doctored to make it sound like Sreesanth was involved.

Once the doctoring has been completed they will be released and Sreesanth a South Indian will be ruined!

This scandal stinks of regionalism!

Srisanth has been framed clearly.. Not a big fan but just saying.
by rohit saxena on May 17, 2013 11:59 AM  | Hide replies

There is no proof whatsoever against srisanth.. Clearly he has been framed by takin on BCCI on his twitter.... What a sham that conversation b/w his relative and bookie can lead to his arrest. There are no conversation between sri and bookie or his relative... how can he be arrested. Suppose someone says that sachin will tie his left pad first or that after some odd runs he will ask for helmet and then play good shots will you arrest Sachin...

You need to understand that playing bad is in your hand but playing good is not totally in your hand.

You need to understand that the batsman doesn't start hitting from ball 1... They start hitting from second or third over... moreover.. after one over in heat you require a towel and most players do that... I mean not GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN...Just because he dances well is hot tempered doesn't make him a fixer as media is suggesting... May be its a larger conspiracy...

This is not test cricket..
In shorter version of the game T20 there is no reason of wasting one or two overs. If any batsman get poor delivery in first over, he hits for the six... Sree is always involved in so many negative activities like issue with Australian players, Bhajji slap, controversial comments and so on.

I agree.. Yesterday the Delhi Police commisioner said there are tapped conversation between Sreesanth and Bookie - I think that was a blatant lie. May be the Delhi Police commisioner who was been constantly under pressure for Women Safety issues in Delhi want to get out of that pressure.

I thought I played and understand cricket. Well, it depends on the batsman how much he can score and not the bowler and to fix runs in 1 over is very tough.

No, not at all only depends on batsman... It also depends on bowler how good or bad bowl he will bowl in the over and also
on the fielders, one great fielding effort save four runs or great catch and one poor effort can provide boundry or drop catch.
Thats why the game of cricket is so popular in India

Why only punish minor players?

Why no punishment for veteran players?

Just because they have many middle men who insulate them from talking directly with the bookies, does not mean that they are not guilty!
