" Sources say the bookies, who go by the names 'Jupiter' and 'Shubham,' had contacted the players individually to make their offer."

so how come they cannot arrest the bookies?

Agree.........the biggest fixer is Thisara Perrera who gave away 29 runs to MI Keiron Pollard......Thisara is not that bad a bowler and Pollard is very very overrated player.........

That match definitely smelled of fixing......

Are you saying Pollard is that great a player that he can hit Perrera for 29 runs?? Pererra is a very decent bowler....see his economy rate in ODIs........

Who says Pererra is a great bowler? You must know he is not the regular member of Srilankan side? He is playing only as a part time bowler, who can make big hittings at the end.
Pollard is not a great batsman, but everybody knows that he is a powerful hitter, when he connects then more than 95% hits a huge six. So, it happens in later overs.

RR - Poor Dravid; he is a gentleman and has 3 bad guys... my sympathy for him and team. Who is the next spinner for him? Chandila was picking few wickets

Something wrong
by Anitha on May 16, 2013 02:15 PM  | Hide replies

if you see RR has lost only 5 matches and by fixing you can only loose the match and can not win- no one will pay you upfront asking you to take wickets. If you say top batsmen like s- S or Y taking money for not playing there is a logic...

DONT SIT ON JUDGEMENT
by perur prasad on May 16, 2013 01:49 PM  | Hide replies

if true it is a shame on IPL and the cricketers.during yester years i have seen cricketers like prasanna, chandrashekhar and vishwnath reaching the cricketing ground by scooter or public transport. There is nothing wrong if present crop make money but the eco system makes them greedy.Either legalize betting or have a foolproof oversight into wrong doings.Equally the nature of the animal T20 IPL renders each action suspect. While Sreenath and company may not be angels do not pronounce the verdict till proven guilty.Let the non cricketing CEOs run the teams as a corporate entitity with strict governace standards.Otherwise once the circus is over the very people who throng the stadium will be baying for the criketers blood.

even if you make betting legal. The match fixing and/or spot fixing is not legally allowed anywhere in the WORLD.
