I reckon betting is in the nature of human being.Even if it is made legal, players can still fall for the lure of money

Death penalty is the right deterrent
by Aruna Roy on May 16, 2013 10:12 PM

Capital punishment in the same IPL ground will act as appropriate deterrent to prevent spot and match-fixing.

All fixers should be hanged in the same IPL ground, where they are involved to fix the matches.

Law Minister should draft a new legislation to contain this menace of match or spot-fixing--similar to anti-rape law.

Spot Fixing...
by Edward Cheruvathoor on May 16, 2013 09:56 PM

I totally agree with what Hawkins says...this evil can only stop if human nature changes. These words are astronomical cause evil has gone to such levels in the human nature. For the sake of money man will go to any extent. This is a very sad day for any Sport. This evil will still go on. Who will come forward to put this evil of illegal money making? Lets just wait and watch what the authorities of the Cricketing world does in this particular case.

IPL is a cross-cultural commercial product
by Samuel Hazare on May 16, 2013 09:34 PM

IPL is a cross-cultural commercial product. There is no national pride attached to it.

Just make, make, and make more money. All IPL matches are fixed in rotation to popularize the game. Except Chennai super kings, no other team performed with consistency.

Greed and envy could trigger match-fixing and spot fixing.
