And Sachin Smith batted well to survive initial overs of quality bowlers so that pinch hitters like Pollard are less exposed to them. Then Poloard and Rohit finished that well. At that point more acceleration was needed and at this age and form, he could not stepped on further. Continuing at just over run a ball (as he was doing) was not enough. Had he continued, he would have perhaps stayed a bit longer and finally got out for say 55 of 49 or 50 balls. That would have left the later batsmen with lesser overs to play.
