they will b thrashed before S/F.like last 3 consecutive t-20 wcup whrere india couldn't qualify for S/F & dhoni was big flop with bat.
All I can see in Australian pitches are pacers droping the ball between middle and off stump and the ball swinging away towards the slips. Two issues here we need batsmen who can play swing and bounce and we need tall batsmen who are nimble in their footwork.Somebody like Yuvi. Unfortunately the guy is fighting it out on so many issue so cant really depend on him at this stage. Second we need to develop good swing bowlers. Of the current breed only B kumar and Ishanth sharma look promising. Of the spin dept, Ashwin seems to the right choice who possibly can rise upto the occasion, the others can be tight in line and length but will it be effective in those pitches is a question mark.
In my books the only person they have ignored right royally is Chetheswar Pujara. He is Tall and nimble footed and can bat quicker also.In my books the batsmen in the height of Raina itself is risky, but We should go with Raina and Kohli ( same height but great feilders) but anybody shorter is s strict no-no. So in my team for Australia, Sehwag, Sachin, Rahane , Rayudu , Dinesh karthik and Sanju Samson , gambir do not have a place. Sehwag becasue he is getting old but the best eye in the team belongs to him. keeping these these constraints now look at the selection, you will see the selectors are on the job allright....Pls do not start that Sachin is short and what are you saying etc... look at todays condition of the pitches, they are tuned to support the home team...

First start living in Present. Sachin already Retired from ODI. If you think Height is criteria for batsman then why not for bowlers too?
It is very true that the selectors should have thought about the next world cup while selecting the team for the Champion Trophy.
Tendulkar, Sehwag, Gambhir and Yuvraj might have been a part of the last world cup winning team. That does not mean that they get selected automatically. Current form, age, fitness and ability to get along well with other team members in general and the Captain in particular are very important.

there was a time.... India was fortunate to have the services of Sujit somasundar, dodda ganesh, david johnson, sunil joshi, along with rahul dravid, srinath, venky, kumble.sorry if i left someone!!!! chairmen of selector was brijesh patel then!!!!!
Players like Vijay ,Raina , Jadeja ,Dhawan ,Ashwin are talented ones .No doubt about that . But the truth is that their technique and talent works only on Sub Continent pitches . Raina has been in team for almost 7 years but he has not scored a single century or century outside sub continent . His 3 centuries in ODI's have been against weaker sides .The team for Champions Trophy has been selected only on basis of IPL . This does not augur well for Team India as they have tours of South Africa ,New Zealand later this year . India can not afford to drop players like Yuvraj ,Zaheer , Harbhajan , Gambhir as these have performed well in all countries , not just in Sub Continent . Why have Manoj Tiwary , Ambati Rayudu , Shami Ahmed , Praveen Kumar been left out ? IPL can not be a yardstick for selection in such important tournaments like Champions Trophy . Something is terribly wrong with selection committee .

some idiots still have the hangover of sachin centuries scored at opening position....and are fools enough to want centuries from raina who comes so low down the order...they should remember that even sachin had no centuries when he batted lower down the order in odis before he started opening for india in odis...
