The best thing about the series was that Indian youngsters were able to contribute handsomely and ensure defeat of the Aussies.
This has never happened before. Always some experienced batsmen like Dravid, Laxman and Sachin were involved in the defeat. But this time it is done entirely by youngsters.
This also raises serious concerns regarding quality of Australian batsmanship. The aussies have been losing 2-0, 2-0 before this series too. But this time the mediocrity in their batting side was all too evident.
Next step is to see if India can do well overseas with the young talents. They have to tour South Africa, New Zealand, Englanad and Australia over the next 20 months. I would suggest selectors to keep at least 2 experienced batsmen in the side for these tours. Sachin is one as a guiding force and the other could be one between Sehwag and Gambhir as an experienced opening option.
