For Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting, the dream to win a Test Series in India remained an unfilled one. When Australia won in India in 2004 after a long, long gap, they had Gilchrist as the captain! What an irony! Captains of two all-time best teams and a common failure!!! That's something India should be extremely proud of!

1. Because it rained in Chennai and India were not able to complete the run chase.
2. Nagpur wicket was doctored to favour Australia deliberately as Gilchrist joked that Aussies would like to play on a Bouncy track in the pre-match conference.

Eaxactly.. also Sachin was half fit , just returning from injury with no matach practice.
Chennai we just had 210 to chase with 10 wickets in hand and a full days play was washed out. Shewag would have finished it off, we wre 20 odd for no loss when rain robbed them.
The less said about the Nagpur pitch the better, Saurav withdrew in disgust.

India would have won in 2003 had not Bucknor played spoilsport.
