Same day Dhawan scored
by Maihoon Don on Mar 20, 2013 07:58 PM  | Hide replies

Same day as Dhawan scored 185, Mitchell Starc also scored 99. Meaning pitch was too flat where Aus's 8th wkt partnership was fast and above 100 runs.

As usual people hurrying with conclusions. Let Dhawan even score a 50 in SA or Aus and we will see then whether he is Don Bradman or Champak_Chewtea.

Only one could have batted like Dhawan. Virender Sehwag.
Bradman played in the 1940s... the quality of the cricket balls made in that period poor and also the variety of pitches very less. Bradman played mostly against England only. The Greatest bowlers are from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s.

What a tribute by an opponent. It speaks not just about the class of Dhawan's batting but also the real sportsman spirit of Cowan.

BJP should take lesson from Cowan, for a good work even opponents should recognize (When Sonia taken charge of Comg-president only 03 states has Cong power, now her achievement is 02 times UPA govt. & 50 % states poer in Cong. Can anybody challenge her ? The present Govt. is blackmailing by TMC for long, Now DMK & after all even after world economic has gone down (like USA, UK etc.)our economic has not down upto that level from which stage we can't comeup. Even same Pawar has an ally with Cong for which he split dueto Sonia's Foreigner issue. Cong has even gone thru very bad phase dueto Corruption, Infiltration, Anna movements, FDI, but every hurdle they have PASED not begging like BJP to RSS & VHP to come in power by raising Hindutva issue.

Don't compare DON with any one. He scored the runs when non of the latest facilities, equipment's, were available. HE IS GRT & will remail GRT, please don't compare & insult the great like DON Bradman

I think Don scored Century before Lunch, 100 between Lunch & Tea AND 100 between Tea and end of the day (if my info is correct) Waiting to see someone equal this record.

Don scored runs at will in the days of no helmets and no fielding restrictions. It may sound a cliche 'old is gold' thing but he really was incomparable and still is.

Only thing Don had in his favour was that in those days cricket was not such a deluge of cricket and players got enough time to recover after matches.

You got it partly wrong. At Leeds in 1930, Don scored a century before lunch, completed his double by teat and his triple by tea - 304 runs in a day! However, he didn't score a century in the last session but, I think, 87. He said he was a little tired towards the end. The commentators and writers who saw that innings said there was not a drop of perspiration on him.

Correction:
...his double by tea and triple by end of day ('stumps').

Looks like Mr Ram is highly impressed by Galli Mohallah type Batting style. Viru a sheer LappeBaaj with zero technique are figuring before Don hehehe...If these so called Great even Don had faced the lethal bolwing era of 80/90s.. their career would not have lasted beyond 25 matches even Sachin may not have achieved half of his records, had he played in that ere. All are plainly dead Wicket Bullies.
