Shikhar certainly has the athletic physique to succeed in any sports...whether he becomes India's star batsmen is to be seen but one thing is sure...if he had a fight with the three leading 'reel' Khans of Bollywood, he can beat the crap out of them single handedly!
On this flat and dead track, SRT should get some runs.. else, he shouldn't be on the plane to SA.. In SA, those fast bowlers will create havoc on the lively pitches.

Looks like REdiff wanted people to go to other sites for score as they do not want to update scores regularly.

Iam already on yahoo,if rediff will not start live i will certainly change my desktop from rediff to yahoo.
It's early days for Dhawan in Test cricket..Let wait and watch how is he going to perform on the bouncy piches of Aus/SA and against the swinging deliveries in England..
old tendulkar who wants play forever should retire to have new superstar comein.he is the only stagnat piece left in him apart from soom good indian fast bowlers.
Re: oldies tendulkar please retire

You are right, Sachin must quit after he completes his 200th test, because he is definitely playing for it. There are many talented players waiting to prove their worth and his presence is only blocking the way for one such talent.
There are many player who deserve a chance in Indian Team. How can Shikar Dhawan be given chance when Sehwag, Gambhir, standby Murali Vijay, are there. He is lucky to get a chance and he has utilised it properly, there are many Shikar Dhawans, Pujaras, Kohlis in nook and corner of India. They cant get even a chance to play, can you imagine Dravid or Tendulkar being dropped for Kohli, Wasim Jaffer is under rated, now next Unmukt Chand is ready with pepsi, knocking the door, better to have rotation of players even if they perform well, bench strength improving for India.

kartik is better replacement for dhoni as kartik showed in 2007 that he can bat even in SA.

yes. today, ckt expert rightly judged dhawan, that dhawan was given a chance, n he prospered. had he got the same chance that rohit was getting, he wud hv matured much earlier. the same thing can b said of manoj tiwari. rohit's backing wasted so many years of ind ckt.

Let us appreciate boy's efforts and hunger for a bigger ton. We have to encourage him. He should be advised not to be complecent. He should be determined and make efforts to give solid performance on fast, bouncy tracks and also when the ball swings like in England

point is. dhawan bating is amazing but cant compare it with viru's debut innings or of saurav's debut at Lords, eng.

You don't have to compare it with any one. Dhawan's century is the fastest in the debut test match in the cricket history and that is a tall order to beat for a long time to come.
