agreed gambhir and shewag are no longer the players they used to be ...but they are replaced by vijay and dhawan...can anyone explain this...as vijay may scored hundred but he is not fit to be a test player nor is dhawan

A settled opening combination is still awaited and these are just experiments.Unless these guys are tried and given opportunity, its difficult to know who is the best guy for the job.
that club level shikar dhaven is selected only due to politics of BJP guy arun jaitly who is from delhi. dhavan is not even capable in playing IPL. we also fate saw of another IPL opener rahane when he was given chances in ODIs with influence of mumbai mafia. the best otion is young hifhly talented Abhinav Mukund who along with in form dashing Murali Vijay would have made lethal combination
Re: why dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan and Rahane both are prolific scorers in their own right in 1st class cricket and btw, abhinav mukund was also given his chances in England in 2011.Made a 40-odd at Lord's I think and thats it.Thereafter he didn't last even 10 overs in any innings.Dhawan is a good choice.Stop linking each and every action of selectors to mafia or politics.

At 19 Dhawan was man of tournament(World cup under 19), and he outscored Suresh Raina in the same tournament

dude, stop referring Murali Vijay as a dashing opener, it as if you are running short of words!! You dont have a bias effect when this Tam was given several undeserved chances before performing at the behest of Chennai IPL team?? That signifies your tamil inclination in the statement

When there are 6 Delhi players it raises no objections, but one Vijay and that raises so much muck. What about Badri and Abhinav who are not getting chances. Vijay scored 2 big 100s in 13 tests that too under severe pressure, that's much better than what Gambhir did in his first 19 tests. Until start of Eng series, Kohli and Pujara had the same record as Vijay, and that didn't cause criticism. Talk about regional criticism! Is it correct that no TNCA candidate should be President or selector? What is Sandeep Patil doing then?

Typical Tamilian reply. Support for Srikkanth as always, conveniently forgetting the whitewash in the hands of England and Aus when he was the selector

How would srikant make the difference or tamilians - I mean let both the team remain the same and you go to australia the result will remain same just that australia will win

We usesd to win in aus because of dravid ganguly alxman - agarkar - his record as bowler is very good in aus - we dont have them now and current lot batsmen not good enough- remember aakash chopra and sehwag partnerships in Aus - miss all those - Now we have t20 openers so difficult for tests

Escape. how? unless it rains for one more day, Aus cannot avoid defeat. As they play 30 mins more, ideally India has lost only 60 overs overall. Anyway India requires less than 4 days to win, so it is not an issue.
