This is all BS. Aussies can't handle the humiliating defeat and in true arrogant Aussie style they are making bizarre decisions as if to tell the world that they are too good to be humiliated like this. Clarke was touting this is the "Australian Cricket team and we are different from other cricking bodies". Yeah these recent actions certainly prove they are different and totally flipped out. This is the same Australian team that is notorious for their bad behavior on the field. We didn't see anybody disciplined or much less chastised for their actions. Now all of a sudden they are a cut above the rest and holier than thou. Bunch of sore losers, that's what they are. England is going to whip their sorry behinds in the Ashes and hey know that very well. Preparing a nice presentation is not a substitute for cricketing skills!

I must disagree with Mr.Nair. These guys get paid millions in salaries, bonuses & endorsements by virtue of their inclusion in the team - the same team which just got the tenth worst beat-down in its Test History. Therefore, a request by its leaders to take some collective responsibility for said beat-down & demonstrate that it is prepared to do what is necessary to improve performance does not seem unreasonable. 11 others complied with request. Why should these 4 be any different? Mind you, it was not just the ‘homework’, but also other incidents like backchat, being late etc. I don’t think the team-management had a choice. Lack of action would have made them look toothless & worsened the situation with respect to lack of discipline within the team. As a supporter of the Indian team, I only wish our team management had this kind of courage to take the kind of action that is sometimes necessary to ensure consistent on-field performance!
australia's moment in sunshine lasted too long with a fabulous team. they expect a mediocre team to shine like their former players. what a laugh! no wonder they have been busy kicking a regular team members, when they were not at a great fault. they might have been wrong, but to expect a mediocre team to win against india in india is a tough ask
allan border, steve waugh, shane warne, mcgrath playing for australia in 90's and 20's but that time coach buckanan style was different. If there is some problem then why did not clarke complaint cricket australia.
micky arthar, ian chappel, dunken fletcher cannot understand by media or journalist. They are coach you are not.If they believe go cutting, football playing or give your views about improvement if rest players including captain doing homework what was wrong with watson, petti, john or khwaja. All coach styles are different. Now media cannot trace any news from cricket they humilited australia saying revolt. If teacher punished 4 student in class then there was revolt. What a joke indian media. This is yellow jouranlism.
I completely disagree with the article and more importantly with the title.First of all, cricket is played on the field and not in the meeting room.Merely writing few points is not going to help anyone's cause. It is the coaches duty to analyze his or her players and inform them about improving their performances.
That is the basic duty of the coach. You don't appoint a coach to ask his or her players about feedback on improving their abilities. The players can always consult the coach or captain on ways to improve their performance.
As far as the punishment goes,it is way to harsh for any player.A 10% fine was enough. These are quality players. You cannot afford to lose such players being 2 down in a series.During a series,it is important to keep the team together in the right spirit when things are not going your way.
They could have taken a short break and relaxed with their families. The captain and the coach will be held responsible for this unwanted and tasteless incident. They should have thought about the long term effects before giving their decision.
Personally,I don't think clarke is a ideal captain, though he is extremely talented. This is not the way to go about things, when you are on the losing side. Both the coach and captain have showed lack of professionalism in dealing with this incident.
Ultimately it comes down to the talent of the individual and not their attitude when playing the game.Attitude matters, but without talent you are left with nothing to work.
Players are there to play cricket and not make presentations on team's failure....what the coaching staff doing !!! Its there job to do analysis and educate players about it...they don't want to do there own jobs and sacking palyers as they are more powerful !!!!! even a 10 years old child can observe that Aus don't have spineers to make impact in this series ....what feedback they require from players ?

Totally agree. All these matches looked fixed by CA and BCCI. The deal may be Indian will loose 4-0 in Australian and Australia will loose 4-0 in India.
