Verender Sehwag

Dhoni is not at all best captain, having only 4 or 5 test out side India, and being a good captain he should honor for the seniors, sehwag is a tremendous batsman, and after Sachin he is only who can attack on bowlers very badly.

code of conduct
by Ashish Sharma on Mar 12, 2013 05:26 PM  | Hide replies

whether Sehwag makes a comeback or not... at least bcci should create a code to retire senior players, (especially those who have contributed a lot to the team) by officially giving them a last match to play and retire before the spectators, instead of just putting them out of the team, making them disappear all of a sudden. They did exactly the same to Sachin in onedays and many other excellent players previously.

Our players drag along for to long. This wouldn't be a case if sachin and other great indian players would retire voluntarily like players from other countries.

Don't you think this same law of VRS should be applied to Bollywood and politics?

PERFORMANCE HAS TO BE THE SOLE CRITERIA
by damodaran mohan on Mar 12, 2013 03:43 PM

Lele must understand that mere past performances do not win matches. For matches to be won the batsmen will have to score and bowlers take wickets consistently or else they make room for those who can do that. Sehwag after being dropped now say he would work hard and make a comeback ! Such thoughts never seemed to cross his mind when the team was losing match after match especially after 2011! So to that extent the dropping seems to have served the purpose of changing Sehwag’s attitude. No body stops him from coming back after doing a hard work. Lele must understand that it is not just Sehwag, next it could be Sachin if he also fails repeatedly the way Sehwag did. So, Lele better prepare himself for that schock also. Performance has to be the sole criteria and nothing else. No player howsoever great is above the team.

No player is above team's interest
by Ramanan on Mar 12, 2013 03:08 PM  | Hide replies

This statement that Sehwag should be picked if he is fit and available should not come from a person who has served the board.Form and commitment is most important which is missing in Sehwag at the moment.Loss of form is tolerable, but Viru not even seems to be making the effort to hang around and bide time at the crease like Vijay and Pujara did in the 2nd test. He seems to want to hit every ball for a four.Despite this also,a senior selector want him to be in the team, its just shocking because no one player is above the team's interest!!

He is one of the most destructive players in the world and a treat to watch when on song but he should not take things for granted and not value his place in the side.Dropping him at present was the right decision because it will send the right message to others and also Viru will be made to value his place.

Bringing back Sehwag
by deep rain on Mar 12, 2013 02:47 PM

this is unfortunate that Indian cricket has not learnt from its mistakes. When a cricketer bowler or batsman is down due to his form or have some other fitness issues they have been discouraged n played down wt ever way possible instead of counselling them or motivating them with scientific methods avalble in the markets now a days. Same mistake being done in Sehwag's case.with out remembering his outstanding contributions to indian crickt and the world crikt aswell. its one big score needed by sehwag to get to his form n come out from the mental blok that he has been going thru

when Ganguly was captain India not able to win atleast 1 cup under his captaincy where as Dhoni able to win 2 world cups and some tournaments and he mostly performs in finals which is the most important aspect. Why people hates him because he from Jarkhand if he is from mumbai or bengle then story will be different !!!!!!!!!

Ganguly also did not have ppor record of loosing 8 away test matches in trot.Remember it was Ganguly who gave india hope of winning test matches outside india. India performed well in test matches played inWestindies,South africa,England,Australia under ganguly

Like his predecssors dhoni is encouraging sychophancy by outsing sehwag after exit of ganguly, kaxman and dravid and playing jadeja and raina earlie r p singh but he should know that such things do bounce back woomerang.Sehwag deserves place in all three formats and dhoni is no match for him as a batsman.after loosing away from home series he has won against australia and media helping him to forget all that loses but remeber what will happen in SOUTH AFERICA

it was sehwag who was playing politics by ,inciting players against captain dhoni
he is ajealous person and coudnt digest the growing popularity of dhoni
the prev few losses of the team happened due to non commitment attitude of sehwag
as far as dhoni is awonderful captain who has led team to world cup victories
in 2 formats
good for team india good for cricket that sehwag is out

Yes. Shewag is Uncultured also. He dropped many vital catches. And when the question raised about his fitness he started dirty politics to stay in the team with regional backing and support.
