why was india defeated by england

The only difference was James Anderson, whose reverse swing did not let any indian batsman settle down. Aust. do not have any anderson now.

It is partly true.Swan & Monty shared most of the wickets while finn unnerved the likes of Tendulkar & Dhoni by his pace. There was also this game changing inning of 156 by a gentleman Peiterson on a spin friendly track which made Indian spinners run for cover for rest of the series. The last but not the least was captain Cook who cooked the Indian goose

good assessment by Pradeep. He is absolutely right. Morever, Englad team bowled well as a unit. I remember in Mumbai test and then in Calcutta test on first day wicket, Indian batsman were finding it difficult to survive as each and every bowler was bowling in the right area consistently which eventually brought the indians downfall. Plus indian spinners didn't bowl well.

The real reason was after winning first test, India got over confident and Dhoni talked too much to the press about rank turners and team lost focus on their job. There was this whole fiasco with Steve Waugh criticising Dhoni about preparing tracks for home advantage, Prabir Mukherjee critising Dhoni for telling what to do. If Dhoni had kept quiet and did his job and team focused on cricket, India would have won the series easily.

Vaughan is right for once

He is mostly suffering from foot in mouth disease. This time for a change ,he has put his money on right horse.English team is not only balanced but has some of the finest pacers to be seen in last decade. The dominance of Swan,Monty & Anderson along with pace of Finn wrecked the same batting line up to pieces that has now two straight big wins against Aussies. The sun has set on Australian cricket much like W.Indies & this decade belongs to England,South Africa & India at home
