You are right, he dropped two catches off Bhajji's bowling and also one stumping of same bowler.

Don't agree. Clarke gambled about 10 runs for one or two early wickets, thats all.

Come on Sunil Vaidya, we have seen worse than this when defensive fields have been set to allow the opposition to score runs when they were 27/4 or 62/5 or 70/3, and even failed to chase down some 150 runs from 50 overs batting against one of the weakest teams in tests.

Well Sunil, I would go with Michael Clarke's decision because I feel it was a good gamble to put Indian under pressure straight away. But I respect your views as well.
Everyone writes about Viru. absurd. Viru scored a 100 against England, and score of a decent 48. In the I Test at Chennai he was unfortunate to get out in the I innings and scored 19. People including experts who say a good opening partnership is lacking, must see their own record, and also of the other countries. Its impossible to score 100 partnerships everytime. India losing because of the retirement of Dravid, VVS. Pujara is presently doing well, to be seen in abroad pitches. Kohli is not consistant. If only current performance and form are the yardstick, then many in the team including Dhoni should have been sacked long back.
by declaring early, they have shown the intent to have a go at our batsmen. if we can withstand their fury, then its ours. take it session by session. dont lose wickets. i really doubt if sehwag can last 2 overs tomorrow. that will set the tempo for the aus.

by taking sehwag and murali vijay onboard, we are literally 2 down even before the match starts. when we know such things, whats the need to pick viru? we have once again proved we pick players based on reputation and brand value rather than performance.
Harbhajan Singh with 2 wickets in first inning has moved closer to claim the 8th spot in the highest test wicket taking category. Now he has 413 wickets under his belt and needs 2 more to push Wasim Akram to 9th spot and claim 8th position. Wasim Akram has taken 413 test wickets.
