A lot has been said about Dhoni being a cool captain, but what I see is that he is a captain who loses his wit when he comes across a situation which is difficult, he is not able to provide bowlers the kind of support in terms of field settings, that is needed in times of crisis. He lacks the capacity of out of the box thinking. This was a quality which Ganguly, and Kapil Dev possessed. As a batsmen too he rides his luck, because his technique is raw and faulty. So it is till he rides his luck he is able to bat..

You seem to have forgotten the fact that he is captaining probably the worst bowling attack in world cricket today. No fast bowlers, no spinners outside India. When the bowlers themselves have no idea as to where to bowl, how can a captain set a proper field? But Dhoni is the best captain India has seen. His form wasn't great till now. Hopefully, the recent 200 will turn things around. With no Yuvraj, Dhoni plays an important role as a batsman. The likes of Ganguly and Kapil certainly had better bowlers in their teams. Try captaining a team that has Ishant, Bhuvaneshwar(in tests), present Zaheer and Ashwin(on foreign tours) and you will understand what Dhoni's work load is.

It is the duty of the captain to encourage and bring the talent out of the bowler and batsman. Ganguly is the person brought in Yuvraj, Sehwag, Harbhajan and some more seasonal players. Dhoni had brought only Ashwin. No others. Dhoni is riding on his luck and the fruit that was once sowed by Saurav

Complete lack of understanding.. of what it takes to be wicketkeeper, squatting and lifting up... it is back-breaking and if it a thankless job with no world class paceman and spinner, it is tough to win.

MSD is following the foot steps of Sachin Tendulkar.Cool temperament.fully focused, knows the strengths of the team, contributes when it is needed most. What about the other team members-the opening batsmen and bowlers? It should not be one man Army!!!
as dhoni rightly pointed out, he relaxes by not looking at news articles. look at the way they have hyped his one innings. dhoni is defntly under pressure, he knows..its not that he can hit a ton or double ton often, its also about how he keeps wickets and captains the team. its too much burden on this fello. hes in a position to take a call but hes not taking the call. he should relinquish either keeping or captaincy..this is too much of a challenge for him..
