IF INDIA has to stay champs, they need to be sombre. THEY NEED TO ANALYSE THE BATTING COLLAPSE!!! dont rely on luck which got bopora and ghora out. Need to look into things quite like england is doing and england working to up it's arsenal against india like sending batsmen all-rounder in end. Or question umpire that he is paid by ICC so he needs to be loyal to angrez when giving stumping chance in favour of India. All this even when over the ground camera shows leg was up in air and cook wants to see over the air view camera...this is why DRS cannot be trusted in videshi hands. And DRS system made by videshis quite like those weapon system...india entanglement and entrapment to videshi tech is one of reason for indian economic and currency fall.

FIXED
by Warden Rhode on Jun 24, 2013 04:32 PM  | Hide replies

This whole tournament was fixed!

None of the teams showed any interest in winning like they already knew India was going to win the finals!

At least 5 - 6 players from each team either play in the I P L or want to play in the I P L, so they didn't want to "upset" the owners of the I P L teams who also own Indian businesses which make a lot of money by using I P L players as models!

I P L is going to kill Cricket!

Finally, we Indians get to destroy something that is cherished and loved by our former rulers, the British!

Our independence struggle martyrs will be so proud of us for doing something they had to die to do!

CT not anywhere near world cup.. What yuvraj sehwag and co.. did cant be replicated unless we win the world cup 2015.. Also looking at team standrds in CT, It was only mediocre so when there are no competetors no big deal to win, no one was intersted in CT.. it was all kids play

BRAVO!! WELL DONE TIGERS!!!
by VINAYAK AMBIKE on Jun 24, 2013 03:08 PM

Great to see our tigers are performing well. Keep it up with ur heads cool and legs on earth. Also I feel this championship may be dedicated to the "Victims of Uttarakhand" and the celebrations should be moderate and peaceful.

Fitting response to team India critics!
by nisha thoas on Jun 24, 2013 02:34 PM  | Hide replies

While as an Indian, i am overjoyed that India has won, what makes me even happier is the fact that several armchair critics, based on some unproven allegations aginst cricketers and bcci, regarding fix, conflict in interests etc were up in arms against cricket and cricketers, have now effectively been silenced for good. This win shows that team India is the worlds best and during tough times for the country(floods, inflation) they can bring smile to countless people. This makes them role models, and the fact that they won during a stressful last 4-5 weeks, shows how mentally tough they are. We are proud of them. ANd by WE, i mean 99 pc of fans, who flock to stadiums and support our team no matter what. ANd the 1 pc of doubters, who thought that the events post IPL will bring a downfall in cricket, must be stunned to see how things have changed. Hope this small group start supporting team India atleast now instead!

It was the sort of dominance that was achieved only by the Aussies in the recent past or the West Indies in the 70s. Amazingly nobody mentioned words like fixing or bullying by cricket boards then. And yet we all know how match fixing almost destroyed the sport in the 90s.

Sad
by Radhakrishnan on Jun 24, 2013 02:11 PM  | Hide replies

It is a sad state of affairs that whenever India loses, people believe that the matches were played fairly. Whenever India wins, stories emerge. Now, look at the following aspects....
India emerged on top of the Aussies in the home series white-wash. Shikhar Dhawan matured into an amazing batsman. Along with that two new spinners- Ashwin and Jadeja emerged along with pacer Bhuvaneshwar and Umesh Yadav to support experienced Ishant.
Kohli matured into a dependable batsman along with the mercurial Rohit and maverick Dhoni.
The fielding of Jadeja, Kohli and Rohit Sharma lifted the others like Ashwin and Kartik.
Things started working for India on these fundamentals.Their collective confidence rose. Even they had a 100% success on DRS referrals!
So, while we have had quite a few mercenaries in IPL, which was always dubious, we cannot accuse the whole Cricket circuit of mal-practice.

Exactly. Just because a few apples are rotten, we cannot throw away the entire basket. Spot fixing (and maybe match fixing?) is definitely a problem, and needs to be dealt with a strong hand. But that should not take away the credit of the Indian team. Just think - amidst all the allegations of fixing and the charges against Dhoni the man still kept his cool and concentrated on the cricket. How many captains could have done that? This is not to say that Dhoni should go scot free. The issues are serious and need to be investigated. But let that not contaminate the game itself. As they say, the show must go on - at least for the honest hard working players and the genuine cricket lovers.

Right. In so many ways this is so much like our performance in the 1983 world cup. At that time also the bowlers and all rounders played a crucial role, specially in the final. There were also inspired batting performances like Kapil's 175. When India ended up with only 129 on Sunday, the mind went back to that Sunday in '83 when we were out cheaply (183 was it?); I consoled myself saying that if India could do it then against a West Indies side that is widely acknowledged as one of the best teams ever, we could do it again; after all, we once again had the bowlers for the job. The bonus was the fielding.
