So the CT marred by repeated agonizing rain interrupted matches finally drags or rather limps into the knock out stages. But for brilliant performances from team India and couple of other teams like SA,WI etc., on the whole it was quite boring mostly w/o much of excitement. In contrast the recently concluded IPL was more enjoyable full of excitement and close finishes despite the controversies surrounding it. With more rain forecast hopes of some absorbing games of cricket in the KO stages looks very less..Amidst all this gloom surprisingly the conditions, especially the wickets appeared to be more of sub-continental like spin friendly with much less ball swing than what were expected. This could be the one of the reason for the unexpected stand out performance of India and we hope they would take it to the last mile. Undoubtedly the best four most deserving sides have made it to the semis and SA appears to be the next best side to watch out for. Although in One dayers any side could win on a given day especially with “rain” factor coming into play , however based on performances in the league stages the odds seem to favour an Ind-SA final which incidentally was also the first match of the CT. In case India crosses semis hurdle which it is expected to, it must watch out because SA seems to have improved progressively after every match and looks much better challenger now than in the 1st match..

thanks to so many Sharjah losses to them. Reverse those and India would be ahead. The day's not far, when India would overtake Pak.
