I think Clarke should have gone mad for saying like this. Aussies will never win or even to draw a single test match in England. It could be better for them to play against countries like Bangladesh or Zimbabwe.
As such this Australian team is quite talented. For unknown reasons they are not playing as a unit and to their potential. Clarke is right, if everything goes well, they can beat England
Clarke is cracking a joke ? Aus should be thankful to A Cook that he didn't enforce the follow-on in which case the match would have been over in 3 days.Fact of the matter is except Michel Clarke there are no other TEST batsmen in the side. Agreed Khwaja did show grit and application but even he has a long way to go.The Aus side has reasonably good bowling attack for a TEST side capable of taking 20 wickets on a sporting track but there are no TEST batters ready to take on the English bowlers except Clarke. But for any rain affected draws it is going to be a clean sweep for the English. There is absolutely no chance of this Aus side winning even a single TEST.CA is to be blamed for the hurried fashion they retired Ponting, Hussey etc. w/o putting in place proper succession planning. The inexperienced youngsters are not yet ready. This Aus side will take time , could be 2-3 yrs to build and to emerge as a viable TEST side. Until that happens the Aus will have to put up with the dismal show witnessed in the Ashes series so far. The Aus are wasting their time and time of the English people who throng the stadium House Full to watch the dud series, a non-event of yr 2013.
Clarke is the panaoti of Australian team. If aussies are to improve, CA should sack Clarke and ban him from coming anywhere near where Australia is playing
