Yuvraj can still make a comeback in World T-20 Cup in India next year and can still make the cut for T20 in South Africa later this year. He has technique flaws in batting and can never survive outside subcontinent pitches. Technically Karthik is far better as a batsman and can play long innings when needed, and is a better fielder than Yuvaraj(who after his illness has lost his agility on the field); Dhoni always prefers players who are fit and can contribute on the field(as a fielder)by saving 30-40 runs in ODIs - hence his preference for younger/fitter players. While I would say its the end of the road for Zaheer. He was never a pacer who gave importance to fitness and have more often than not had major breakdown in the run up to the crucial games. He lacks accountability. It was Greg Chappel who showed him the door b'cos of fitness issue and he went back to County Cricket to get match fitness but again with the exit of Chappel he simply did not work on his fitness. He is a liability to the team. May be we can look at him as a bowling coach for 2015 WC in Australia - thats about it. There are much fitter pacers in World Cricket who retire by 34/35 (max age), and Zaheer with a questionable attitude and fitness, should not be given any further chance to disturb the balance of the team.

I don't understand why yuvraj is dropped...he is a proven match winner...and much better than someone like dinesh kartik...and yuvi is also a very useful bowler...he shud be given another chance

dhoni does not like other cricketer to grow more than him that is why sehwag gambhir yuvraj are out of test squad like punter dropped steave waugh from one day squad after india new zealand oz tri series slow batting run rate

He was dropped because he was unfit. Did you notice his tummy during IPL? He was rushed back to cricket after his recovery from cancer. However, if he manages to regain his full fitness, he would still be an asset to our ODI and T20 squads.
