it wasnt the last ball, 8 runs required of the last over which Saqlain was bowling, robin singh was on the non strike after taking the single, we won the match after score was levelled, rajesh again lofted the ball in the no man's land and taken winning run. 6 had come in between of the over but not on the last ball

It was Kanitker who hit a boundary(not a six) off Saqlain in the Independence cup of Bangladesh in 1997!

A wicket in first over
by Vipin Jain on Jan 30, 2013 12:03 PM  | Hide replies

Shaminda Eranga (Srilanka) is the only bowler to take a wicket in his first over in all three formats. Eranga got wicket off first ball in test cricket, 3rd ball in one day internationals and off 4th ball today in T20.
How could Rediff miss this?

Open ur eyes before blaming Rediff. This article is about hitting 6s on the last ball, not taking wickets in first overs

In that case, why Bhub Kumar's 1st over wickets & Kapil's run out out records are covered

I am sorry for that, but again, the question was about any Indian bowler, so I think they did not include Shaminda's record in the answer

Bang On Vipin!! But his 1st T20 wicket was against India and it was Gambhir who was bowled by Eranga in his very first international T20 match. The match was played on 7th August 2012 at Pallekele (Srilanka).

It was the second last ball when India needed 3 runs off 2 balls. Kanitkar hit a four on the second last ball and India went ahead (316) of the required 315 with 1 ball to spare (Pakistan made 314)

It is super important because it tests if the batsman has got nerves of steel or not. Only the most confident ones can go for this. As great as Sachin is, I doubt if he can ever do this. He is too calm and calculated for a feat like this.

Best?

That incident cost poor Sharma his career and unspeakable humiliation!

How can it be considered "Best" by any Indian?

It is really sad how you people from Kerala like to revel in the misfortunes of other Indians!

Cricket is a TEAM game. That full toss resulted in INDIA losing the match, not Sharma. UNDERSTAND?

A true patriot will consider his country's defeat more painful than an individual's pain.

Those who are not patriots will keep on arguing over this.

In which match? What are the statistics of the match?

Please let me know soon.

I have bet Rs. 20 with a colleague on this issue!

He claims it won't be possible for anyone to bat in such a condition!

It is OK I have lost the Rs. 20 bet because I could not prove the 'playing with diarrhea' claim!
