Not as openers

Sehwag and Gambhir should get a chance to play in the middle order and not as openers...

Gambhir and Sewagh

Selectors should drop both from the team permanently, there are very good players waiting for that position instead of demoralizing the team for captaincy.

First drop dhoni from Indian captaincy as he has failed consistently.

It's all over
by Bhasmasur on Jan 17, 2013 05:17 AM

In last two years, he failed more often then not

He is a very poor fielder

He is 35 yrs old

He can't bowl anymore because of poor shoulder

Finally, Check his records-he was more succesful in Test cricket then limted overs cricket..

captaincy is in his mind..

It appears Viru is unhappy about not getting the captaincy and out of frustration and intentionally getting out to prove the importance of his contribution. A few others like Gambir are also following the same course. Whether he had performed exceptional in the past in nothing to do with his contribution in team's victory for d past one year.b5yey

I remember 2003 WC final.India is chasing a daunting target.Still we had a lot of hope till Sehwag was runout. And i still believe if he hadn't runout we wouldn't have waited for another 8 years for the WC victory. And what about the double hundred and many other swashbuckling performances.Even he changed the course of test matches with his power hitting like the 4th innings at chepauk vs ENG or his fastest triple hundred vs SA or the 290 vs SL within a day and many innings like that.No Rahane or Pujara can match Viru when he is at his best.

yes your right that rahane & pujara cant match viru but the problem is that viru was getting very inconsistent for past 1 year, one of the reasons for him being dropped

Dear JG,
99.99 percent India's defeat was confirm when target was 360. Veeru scored with a sr of 100 so he wasnt going to win the match. Atleast 3 more players with higher sr were needed to score halfcenturies and it was impossible. Bowlers lost us WC03.

BTW Sehvag still is better than useless youngsters :)

The problem with Indian team selection is if a team member plays good for one match and he win the match on his own. It is like he got license to play another 30-40 one day matches no matter what his performance is!!. The same happend to Sachin and atlast the BCCI sacked him!!!

It is unfair on part of selectors to drop highest individual score record holder for Indian in odi and test.If u drop him then dhoni should be removed from captaincy first coz India is looking consistently and like a responsible captain dhoni should step down.

I think he is dropped not just for his poor form but also becoz of his fitness and slowness on the field.

ashwin is slower than sehwag. but he gets some wickets of tail enders and manages to stay in the team because of his geographical location. but sehwag is having a worse time than ashwin.

harbhajan is also no good nowadays. and even if he is good, he would not be selected. look at ojha, with all his wickets, he is used as a second spinner.
