With SRT Retiring from ODIs
by shantanu visen on Jan 09, 2013 08:01 PM

We have lost a great reason to sit and watch ODIs and enjoy a drink or two watching his elegant drives.. Even beer does not taste the same since!!

Tendulkar's ongoing Ranji exploits at 39 yrs reminds me of Sonam Kapoor's talk (much ado about nothing).

Wasim Jaffer's father was critically ill and was admitted in the hospital. He played the match and scored 150 runs (unlike Gambhir who leaves the match half way coz of granny's or aunt's illness). No mention of that in Rediff.

Just see the bowling attack SRT has faced to score this century. The four bowlers of Baroda who have bowled more than 35 overs each, none of them have played more 32 first class matches or form part of any IPL franchise!!!

good evening saab. you are right. maybe sunil gavaskar and ravi shastri will start commenting for ranji trophy from now on considering SRT's absence from ODI :)

what i was reallypissed off was the lack of mentioning the hospitalization of Wasim Jaffer's father whereas SRT's scratchy century has 2 full articles on rediff.

and you saw the mad fans in the stadium? all disappeared after his wicket fell. all of them were seen in the parking lot waving to him :)
I am reminded of Vidya Balan's role in the film "Dirty Picture" :)

Well said. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar is a very poor bowler compared to Ishant Sharma becoz he has not played enough number of first class matches... ;-)

Where would we be without the melodrama provided by the self-righteous, holier-than-thou Sachin-haters? Let me give you three examples:
First, the man opts out of playing against Gujarat & plays in this knockout game to help his side out. But, that is seen as a selfish and conspiratorial act on his part.
Next, if one respects Jaffer’s father then they can go visit him or write a note wishing him the best. Why should anyone be pre-occupied with whether a news channel or online newspaper covers it?
And finally, here is a newsflash: Everyone grieves differently. It is a personal thing. So, Jaffer plays despite his father being critically ill, So, Gambir leaves to be by the side of an ailing relative. Who gave anyone the right to decide how the affected party should express their respect or grief?

Get a life people! You know who you are!

You got it all wrong. I am not speaking about anything you claim that I do.
1. Let him play an game he wants, I dont care as long as India wins.
2 & 3. I am not advising people what to do. The point is, Rediff had not posted any article till then mentioning Jaffer or Nayar for their centuries, but wrote 2 articles on Sachin's century.

First learn to read messages than having prejudice.

Need to perform!
by mohan ramakrishnan on Jan 07, 2013 12:36 PM

Sachin is a great guy every body knows once they see the personal statistics. But then he has to continue performing for the team's victory. That's not happening in the more than a dozen innings now. Like the rest, he also falls cheaply in a crucial game. So scoring a century or two in Ranji is to what avail?

What is SRT trying to prove?? Even SRT,RD and Ganguly will notch up centuries against 3rd rate teams like Railways,Baroda etc. Now to prove that he has passion he will play All india Kancha association matches also and score centuries and then his fantards will take that opportunity and say look here is getting centuries where team india is getting pasted against Pak.

Its proved T is good only for Ranji not international. mumbai Team is not looking to bank on T for winning Ranji. Please don't hold a position of a player who need to prove his place in future of Indian Cricket.
