Being an Indian, he is not eligible to be honored with the title "Sir". It can be given for citizens of countries which accept the English queen as the head of the state. And India is a republic. So, he is not eligible.
man...i am tired of people praising sachin tendulkar over the last 10 years....lets move on to some one else....from another country like sangakkara, jayawardene, kallis, cook, clarke etc. who are pretty much equal to tendulkar in every respect...

shut ur mouth and go to sleep u don't even know how many centuries sachin has scored, it is very easy to judge others rather than peeping into our own holes.

You may feel going against a common view is cool, yes maybe at times. But here dude you sound like an empty headed moron just saying it for the sake of it.
Definitely one of the greatest. However most of his contrinutions went unrecognized due to poor performances from tail enders and also due to weak fielding. Otherwsie lots and lots of his innings would have been match winners. Greatest due to longevity. Playing 20 yrs and maintaining unbelievable consistency. Knows when to attack and when to defend. Atleast Ponting and Lara are supported by good bowling. But Tendulkar never had that luxury.
biggest proof is genius is his records...records are created when one plays well really really well..he dont take his records his home...one more name is attributed with those records is that of INDIA....no man can dream of coming closer to any of his batting records forget breaking them...WC'96,2003 he almost won it single handedly...WC2011 what can i say..he was top scorer for india and second highest (dilshan topped)...
I always felt that he will bow out gracefully but he did not. I was watching on you tube his press conference where he said that he will inform everybody before he retires , but he quitely did it to BCCI. That also put a question mark on his credibility. But all in all a very good cricketer till 2003. His decline started after 2003
When I returned in 1987 to India after working abroad, Sachin began his career and I was enjoying every innings of his in one day matches. I liked him very much, but in the twilight of his career when runs were hard to come and Sachin went on clinging to cricket, I began to have a different opinion. Perhaps he should have retired soon after the victory in the world cup.

I was his big fan. But after repeated failures , he should have made way for the youngster. Every body ages. one must realise that reflexes rae slowing down. Also i noticed that he was a failure for big occassions.
