Now that Dhoni has re-invented himself in the TESTs to assert through performance other things like opening stand, middle order stability, bowling attack especially the spinners.....everything are likely to fall in their places. Coming specifically to spinners it is heartening to see Ashwin regain his old form. Possibly he has realized his mistakes ! If only Ashwin had bowled like this during the English tour the series could have been far closer. But what did he do differently now ? Elementary…..He bowled plain off-breaks in the right areas which he didn't do instead trying all funny things in the name of variations. Any bowler for that matter must use his body to impart the 'momentum' to the ball that gives it the 'speed' or the 'spin' as the case may be. Awhwin was not doing that and his 'comical pause' just before delivery was the main 'villain' which was making the ball ineffective. Just the hand push was hardly imparting any momentum to spin ball adequately and the batsmen were getting all the time in the world to play the ball the way they wanted. For a spinner to get wicket he must make the batter play and play hurriedly--the ball must hit the bat or pad with unpredictability rather than the bat hit the ball in intended fashion! On a turning track why experiment ? Better stick to your stock ball .On a dead flat track one can try variations.
well done Ashwin,no.1 ranking waiting for u.Also,Tendulkar's next double digit score will be after 5 series.At the end of the series expect tendylya's ranking in the range of 100.

Not sure why so many hate Ashwin? And I doubt if he is Dhoni's favorite- he was made to sit out of the WC finals despite being in form! To take 75 wkts and 500 runs is no joke. Whereas with 900 runs people glorify Pujara beyond limits, with 3 centuries in 20 tests Kohli is touted to be captain! Wonder why we treat bowlers so shabbily?
The way we are playing, we will be number one eventually. Unfortunately we have to wait for a while before south Africa and India meet in the clash of the titans. Test are not on the same league a these two teams
with a team full of paper tigers, this team can win only in tailor made dust bowl pitches in india. this is no victory, it is worse than an honorable loss!

why dont you form a team for yourself and register it with BCCI and see if you can even make 100 runs against the Aussies on dustbowls?

Actually if only Aus had one extra batsman like Moises or Clarke, or even a bowler like Pattinson, and if Dhoni and Ashwin had average performances, the story would have been different. Pattinson is a real dangerous bowler like Anderson, he was bowling bouncers on the 5th day!

My dear friend every country fires in its back yard.Let Australia turn Perth in to spin if it is so great, Let England not depend on swings in Lord. The same pitch India hit 500 plus I mean what is so bad. Please learn to respect our Team for good show. They deserve at least that.

this match was not finished in 3 days or 3 1/2 days. THE SCORES ARE ABOVE 300 ON BOTH FIRST INNINGS.chintu baby, go and play with toys and have lollipop.

Ha ha ha. India is ruling the ICC. Hence dustbowl pitches are the norm, not the exception. Understood Chintu???

Those only tendulkar used to play. The match will be over if he gets out. That was the situation. These criticizers may not aware of those matches. I still watch the test matches for tendulkar. Now a days I am not great fan of cricket. But still watch matches coz' of him.
