Dhoni, the greatest captain
by Gurjot Singh on Feb 26, 2013 11:35 PM

True indication of greatness is how you face adversities. India was down on its knees and now this amazing recovery. Dhoni has led by example. He is the greatest captain ever. Just remember how we were humiliated in England and Australia. I guess we just have to trounce South Africa to be recognized as #1 test playing nation again. Too bad that we will have to wait a while before we face them.

UPA achievements in the field of sports:

These are gifts from youth icon for India's youth...

1) India embarassed globally through CWG scam
2) India kicked_out from participation from all future Olympics
3) Indian boxers not allowed to take part in professional competition under national flag
4)Wrestling where India got two medals thrown out from olympics
5)India forced to withdraw from Azlan Shah Hockey tournament as government has no money to buy air ticket for players. All money has gone into defence deal kick back.

As far railways go,filthy-toilets,rat-cockroach_mosquito_theft_robbery,accident and dirty_food will still continue...

1,2,3 and 5 are correct.
4 is the decision of International Olympic Commitee, if higher number of countries vote for exclusion of wrestling, India cannot prevent it, irrespective of whatever government is at centre.

What age? He is only 27 and if he properly groomed, he could be our next Kumble and go on till 35.

i guess replacing old schewag is a better idea than vijay. With schewag, we are sure that India has already lost a wicket before innings start. Also we are sure that some dolly catches will be missed too at slips.

IPL is around the corner; both Dhoni and Sachin have been told by their franchises to get ready for IPL despite the test series.

VENKATESWARAN VISWANATHAN
Vijay
by VENKATESWARAN VISWANATHAN on Feb 26, 2013 12:33 PM  | Hide replies

Murali Vijay may be a good batsmen at state level but certainly he does not meet the international standards. It was a mistake in dropping Goutam Gambhir. He should be brought back to the team for the remaining tests. Harbhajan is also not in that prime form. For reasons not known he has lost the killer instinct which he had during his hay days. It is unfortunate but he has to go. We need to have balanced pace and spin attach and it will be better to have look at Irfan Pathan in place of Bhuvanaeshwar Kumar and Pragyan Ojha should replace Jadeja. The foot work and hand coordination of Sevag is also not that sound as it was earlier. One more failure and he needs to be replaced with Shekhar Dhawan.

So going by your analysis-paralysis theory the only ones left to be replaced are the umpires now!!!

You saying Bhajji is not on form and Ojha to replace Jadeja??

I hopes you knowing what you talking.

My suggestions for next test (4 spinner and 1 fast):
1. Murli Vijay to Dhawan
2. Sehwag to Rahane
3. Ishant to Ojha

Bhajji - one more match chance
Bhuvi - to be give more chance because he young.
Jaddu - handy bowler who taken wicket at right times, need to be in team.

First, India should go to Hyderabad and look at the track. There's no point in going with 4 spinners if the track is a seaming track.

Rahane is overhyped, he just doesn't have solid defence. And even his cuts etc are better suited for T20. For Vijay he needs to calm down. Until a few matches ago his record was the same as Pujara and Kohli. Gambhir never had technique for tests, so I am surprised that he even managed so much. Viru has it in him to come back. He has to work on his confidence. Hyd should be a dust-bowl summer has already started there, Ojha should get in place of Ishant.

We have 6 Delhi players, and if we can find 4 Mumbai players, then Dhoni can have fun leading the two metros?? That seems to the idea of "national" team according to most people.

it is the case of sour grapes for kannada fanatics like Basavaraja whose state does not have a player now in the indian team. This kannada langada fanatics fear Ashwin will replace Anil kumble as the highest wicket taker. Definitely this kannada fanatics' fears are going to be justified.

Mr Alok CONGA kumar,

FYI, David Johnson was the fastest bowler of that time and Dodda Ganesh was leading wicket taker in ranji, and you please dont talk about Sunil Joshi and raghuram bhat as well. THose guys were Ranji raja's just like Ashok Lamba was. When your Thiruvanakarru Kumar, who looks like a Mason like all other tamilians are is given a chance than defintely David Johnson deserves it. And Pls dont talk about our gentlemen GR Vishwnaath, you dont have that required class for it. You can keep your opinion on Thiruvankarasu kumar or Workeri Raman, that suits ur stature.
