"dhoni surpasses gavaskar, tendulkar, pataudi. highest score by indian captain". If he does this overseas, he can be called a good player. Else, he is another flat track bully.
Re: good on the indian doctored pitches

dhoni has only 5 wins abroad as a captain. and in each one of them, the so called seniors were the main guys by which india won. south africa & sri lanka-laxman bangladesh-zaheer/sachin/dravid new zealand-sachin/harbhajan west indies-dravid
if dhoni cannot be held responsible for the whitewashes, he can neither be credited for the only 5/19 matches india won overseas.

typing abuses is easy than analysis solid or whoever you are. see the performance of dhoni which resulted in victories and you better dont run away.

sunil vaidya, you are free to imagine stuff and continue losing abroad.

by Sunil Vaidya on Feb 26, 2013 09:45 AM
KillAfzalGuru (and Aam Admi), i dont imagine stuff and it is india (we all) losing abroad...not me alone...and btw when did i deny that we have lost many times abroad? did i ever say that?
and when did i deny that we were exposed abroad? yes in the two whitewashes sehwag, gambhir, laxman, dravid sachin were horribly exposed and proved that they cannot bat on the pitches there...i agree with you on that point too...please show any post where i denied this...

vaidya, when you can say we are burning with envy and jealousy, we can also say you are imagining stuff, dont you think so?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: good on the indian doctored pitches
by Aam Aadmi on Feb 26, 2013 10:00 AM
@sunil vaidya: they cannot bat on the pitches there now, agree. but ashwin can bat better than dhoni since he scored more runs than dhoni.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: good on the indian doctored pitches
by Sunil Vaidya on Feb 26, 2013 10:11 AM
yes aam admi i suppose you are right ...ashwin scored more than 224 runs...happy?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: good on the indian doctored pitches
by Sunil Vaidya on Feb 26, 2013 10:12 AM
no killafzalguru...i dont think so...i know how you feel when you think about dhoni...your posts clearly show that...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: good on the indian doctored pitches
by Aam Aadmi on Feb 26, 2013 10:22 AM
so with your logic, ashwin is a better batsman than dhoni. now i am happy.

what i think of dhoni is shown in his performance in overseas matches won by india.

Dhobi is best captain only in india...Dbobi is unfit to fit in outside India...
Re: best captains of India
by Aam Aadmi on Feb 26, 2013 08:00 AM
i dont know pataudi since i am not of that generation. but for the last 20 years, best captains overseas can only feature Ganguly, Azhar and Dravid. Special mention of Dravid is because of winning 17 matches continuously under his captaincy.
Re: Re: best captains of India
by Sunil Vaidya on Feb 26, 2013 08:53 AM
we did not win 17 matches continuously under dravid whether in india or abroad...
Re: Re: Re: Re: best captains of India
by Sunil Vaidya on Feb 26, 2013 09:42 AM
wrong again....dravid did not win 15 odis continuously either whether in india or abroad...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: best captains of India

then you post the correct stat and tell me how to search in cricinfo. i am not able to filter properly in cricinfo. i searched in google and found this in wikipedia "During his captaincy the Indian team broke the 14 match West Indies record for most consecutive won matches in One-Day Internationals while chasing a total. For this 17 match run, Dravid was the captain for 15 matches and Sourav Ganguly was the captain for the other two. This streak was broken on 5/20/06, when India lost to the West Indies by one run, at Sabina Park, Jamaica".

aam admi, do your own searching...why should i do your job?
and see carefully your own post...it is not ''continuously'' it is while ''chasing''...it means that if we played 17 odis we did not win all those 17 odis...''while chasing means'' we won 17 odis while chasing ...if out of those 17 odis we batted first 13 times of those and if we batted second 4 times...then it means we only won those 4 matches ...who knows how many we won out of the other 13 and how many we lost...
aam admi....those 17 matches ''continuous'' wins might have come in 50 odis for all you and i know...
aam admi suppose out of thse 50 odis we had to bat first 33 times and chase 17 times...then we won only those 17 odis...we might as well have lost all the other 33 times...who knows?

by Sunil Vaidya on Feb 26, 2013 10:24 AM
aam admi, since i have doubts over your intelligence, i am not sure whether you grasped my above post...let me try to make it easier for you...suppose we play a 10 match series and out of that suppose we have to bat and bowl alternately...that means we batted second in 2nd 4th 6th 8th and 10th odi...suppose we won all these 5 odis but lose the other 5 odis and the score stands at 5-5...series draw..but we have still won 5 odis ''continuously'' while ''chasing''... it does not mean that all those 17 chases came one after another...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: best captains of India
by Sunil Vaidya on Feb 26, 2013 10:29 AM
aam admi, i am sure you have visions that under dravid we won those 17 odis in succession like australia won 17 times in succession in tests twice...they won 17 tests on a trot whether at home or abroad without losing...that is not the case here...we won 17 odis while ''chasing'' and in between whenever we had to bat first there were sometimes losses too...got it?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: best captains of India

my brains are better than yours friend. isnt is a record if india have chased and won 17 times? dravid was the captain 15 times. that makes it better. and when you say "who knows", it shows that you dont know either. when you say i am wrong, give me stats to prove it. does it hurt your ego to prove me wrong with stats rather than foolish statements like "why should i do your job?" or "since i have doubts over your intelligence, i am not sure whether you grasped my above post".

my dear aam admi, may be you got know about this record recently...but i posted this in defence of dravid ages ago...maybe you were sleeping then...

The answer for the question "give me stats to prove it" is about you speaking about defense of Dravid, it shows that you are sleeping even now. And do you really think you are a spokesperson or celebrity or some great icon or somebody even worth remembering what all you speak? To say the least, you are a silly guy who speaks about "defense of Dravid" :-)
However he was playing more one day strokes, i guess it would have given him confidence to play more test shots in upcoming future for more consistency. Hats off to him and Ashwin
