Sack the Selectors
by cedric on Feb 18, 2013 02:15 PM  | Hide replies

Players like Sachin, Shewag, Rohit Sharma keep getting selected inspite of SCORES of continuous failures. It is high time the selectors be sacked

Gambir should have played the test. In his absence Wasim Jafer or Murali Vijay should play. Why Shewag was selected? He has lost his touch.

reason for sachin's debacle
by veerapuram dharan on Feb 18, 2013 10:14 AM  | Hide replies

sachin is still as talented as he used to be. the technique and stroke play is the same. what has changed is the ability to perform under pressure. he might have a child like enthusiasm to play longer but when it comes to playing in front of several cameras, a lakh of supporters on the ground and millions more watching on the TV, he has lost that aura to handle the pressure.. am sure, if he will come good in his favourite ground in chennai but even if he performs, he should still hang his boots after this series irrespective of if we win or lose...

diff between aus and ind
by veerapuram dharan on Feb 18, 2013 09:52 AM  | Hide replies

if ricky fails in 2 series consecutively, he was asked to perform or perish. since he knew he couldnt perform, he perished on his own. when hayden at 36 was still thrashing the bowlers, he was monitored closely and when his bat got only fifties instead of big hundreds, he was shown the door. such are the standards set by the aus. they dont take losses that easily and they dont keep non performing players in the team how ever big they may be. its been almost several seasons ago that sehwag and sachin got big hundreds consistently. still what are we waiting for? one more series loss to get over? really one should appreciate the guts of sach and sehwag because inspite of these failures, they still want to hang on knowing that another failure would be a catastrophe for their careers. here is where rahul and laxman stand miles apart when compared to sachin in decision making..poor sachin, he needs good advisors..

good point veera. there is no accountability in india. if sachin had played fror australia he would have been dropped years back. also, how come harbhajan has got into the team after doing nothing in the whole ranji season?

Standards set by the Aussies include losses at home? Why dont you become a "good advisor" to Sachin? You are not selfish and can work without money right?

we are doing worse. sachin is playing badly, agree. what about the remaining 10? are dhoni, gambhir, sehwag, kohli, ashwin, etc still building teams after atleast 2 years of cricketing? this is a very good excuse to justify failure. Lack of talent (as Dravid said) is the right word.

Good point. The present team should be sacked immediately.

I heard we have some good 14 year olds available to bd our next "youngsters" instead of 30 year old wicket keepers.

Test Series
by JRK PRASAD on Feb 17, 2013 08:38 PM  | Hide replies

As Team India aware that Aussies have cautioned us that Pace is their strength. Hence Top Order should concentrate on how to content Pace Bowlers and see that they will not loose any wicket. Practicing aginst spin bowlers will not solve any purpose. Hence Practice playing against Pace Bowlers.

Practicing against good spin bowlers (which we dont have now) would have won India the series against England this winter.

exactly, the aus knows their main weapon is their pace battery. if u look at the scorecard of ind A, gambhir and others got runs against their lowly ranked spinners and they couldnt score against their regular pacers..

Are Australia going to play 4-5 seamers? One dumb pitch (in the level of Nagpur) will tire them out.

the aus anyways are gonna play with 4 seamers including watson. sachin's vulnerability is against left arm fast and spin bowling and right arm off spin. he would have cherished a leggie like warne but am sure, he wil become bunny to starc or lyon or even agar..as a sachin fan, hate to see such stuffs..hence, its better if he quits now..
