I watch cricket only for Sachin. And I will stop it after he is retired. Nowadays cricket is so boring. Its like watching second grade teams from all the countries. Take an example of one day cricket and T20. So much new players coming it feels really boring. Every second one dayer you see new faces. Lot of rotations going on. I have always watched cricket for players. like Brian Lara or Chris Gayle for West Indies, Ricky Ponting or Michael hussey for Australia, Kevin Pieterson for England etc. If you dont see these faces, it gets really really boring. Its like watching Australia A, England A etc
This is his swan song... SRT probably won't be boarding the flight to SA for the next tour.. However, I have no doubt in my mind that he will continue to play that galli cricket called IPL..

Definitely he will play as long as our janata-janardhan keeps watching that mockery-of-cricket IPL.

Ya, nothing else to comment/fight upon. Tracking NZ v Eng & Ind-A v Aus for timepass.

Played rather slow today, 22 of 38. First fewballs very defensive.
We look forward to the Great Batsman. He puts enormous effort in practises.. and never let his fame dominate him. Hats off.. such guys are hard to find.

he is a dude man when it comes to milking the bowlers for runs... particularly when approaching his century he takes his time by scoring singles

Failure will not force him, I am sure. Else, he would have retired atleast 5-6 times last decade :)

Shambhu:
EVERY cricketer needs to retire 5-6 times during a decade. Probably even more. :-) Take Kohli for example. Already 2-3 times within last few series. :-) Main thing is how Sachin has come back strongly and registered years like 2010 for example. Or massive innings against SA in tests and in WC for example.

But the discussion here is about future. 2 years have passed since his last century in tests. He had a bad patch earlier, but did he take 2 years to recover (assuming he will score centuries in the coming series)?
He was not expected to quit after 2 consecutive whitewashes since he was the second top scorer twice (max 2 innings in each series he was in good touch, mind you that makes 4/16 innings). But what has happened after that? Kolkatta's 76 runs were nowhere near his standard (which is expected of an experienced player). Should Bhuvaneshwar Kumar also score more than him repeatedly? Sachin & Ponting have unnecessarily damaged their reputation during the last phase of their careers. And mind you, I am not speaking about age, or him being bowled even by new bowlers (since it does not matter as long as he is performing).

Frankly, I dont expect centuries from him now. All I am looking forward to, is him being being in touch and scoring atleast half centuries frequently (atleast 1 every 2-3 innings). Now, that is not a big expectation, is it?

1 score of 50 is enough for his fanatic following to jump in joy and say he is in prime form (even a crappyinnings like Kolkatta will do). Some great heads like Bhajji and Zaheer will say he is an inspiration and a guy who constantly guides players. Aur_kya_chahiye? :) No hatred for him, but he hasscrewed himself this time.
