Re: we will be happy to c u back in Ranji

even IPL teams would start scouting for younger talents rather than depend on this pedestrian bowler.
if he enjoys the game, he can play in ranji or irani games where quality doesn't matter.
Pointless because the current Chepauk pitch is pacy and bouncy. Pacers like what we saw vs Pak will succeed leaving very little room for spinners. Ashwin probably would get the nod ahead of Bhajji because of familiarity with pitch and batting ability. However India depends badly on Ishant, Bhuva, Dhinda etc to strike. Otherwise Aussies will go up 1-0 and whip India unless Delhi and Hyd produce characteristic dustbowl pitches that spin from 1st over. Choice of having first match at Chepauk is bad from India's point of view. They could have chosen Delhi or Hyd to get batsmen into form.

true! Chepauk pitch has changed a lot over the years and is unpredictable. The home team (TN) couldn't have any home advantage last season and hence, did very poor in the Ranji. India too of late, hasn't done well. The pitch sure is not aiding spinners nowadays. 3 pacers plus Ojha and Jadeja turning his arm around will be a good option.
I know you are very proactive and always fume when he plays and do not waste time to write him off. Please have guts and answer the following questions without using abusive language:
1) How much do you know about him?
2) How many Indian bowlers have taken 400 plus test wickets?
3) Where does Bhajji stands in the test wicket taking bowlers?
4) Does he holds any batting records in test cricket?
5) What was significant about him during the semi finals against Saurashtra in Ranji Trophy?
6) How many wickets did he take in the Irani Trophy?
I have seen enough venom of your to write him off, now please be courageous enough to answer the above questions.

questions 1,2,3 and 4 - he was good. no doubt about that.. harbhajan is one among the players you would love to watch him bowl.. the unique action and rhythm... made him standout..
but 1,2,3 and 4 is a closed chapter.
5,6 - the only matches you could find out when he did quite well and not brilliant..

Just Random search on Cricinfo. From March 2011 he payed 6 tests and his bowling average is 43.33. Now you ask yourself a question why he should play?

Kumble has better record than him but once he finds his time is over he called off. This guy time was over even before Kumble retired but still ... Bhajji without Kumble is actually nothing. Any spin bowler would be successful if Kumble is bowling at the other end.

His performance is history, he is no more a good bowler, never a batsman or fielder.

Ashwin is also not doing anything but still he in the team....... then why not Bhajji.... atleast he has good past record against aus to favour him..... Ashwin doesnt have even that

Well said Teena Mehta. Bhajji has a strong edge over Ashwin and Ojha with his records against Australia. He will certainly succeed.

I watch Indian cricket very closed and not biased with anyone in the team. A player not doing well definitely doesn't deserve a place in the team.
Your comment on Ashwin not doing anything is absurd. I think ppl are waiting to see Ashwin fail. When he tool the fastest 50 wickets, everyone said he can get wickets only in Indian pitches. That time as well there was no praise for him. Reason being regional bias. Don't think I am from South of India. I actually belong to kolkatta.
Now the time when Ashwin took those 50 quick wickets and India WON convincingly, he was actually hiding the batting and fast bowling weakness of the Indian team. No one raise a finger to point at the batsmen.. the reason is they are all very talented and need sometime to get back to form.
Now time pass on.. Ashwin doesn't perform for a few matches (It can happen to anyone.. It also happened to Sunny,Tendulkar,Kumble). Now when he doesn't perform, the whole team lots bad and weakness is shown and he is targetted.
Now instead of supporting him, we show our anger. Now he just failed for a month (forget the Aus tour... no spinner survives there).. There are ppl in the team from N India for close to 2 years without doing anything. Now no complaint's against them??
Though I accept Ganguli was the greatest captain india had, Dhoni has also got some skills in finding talent and giving them a long rope inspite of failures.. He is never biased towards any player... on the field he just goes with what

Well said. How can a player be dropped after 10 great matches and 3 sub-par performances. And in fact all this pressure will only push Ashwin towards taking batting seriously where he has done well. Basically it boils down to this: for a batsman we are prepared to give 2-3 years of shoddy performance (Tendu, Sehwag, Gambhir, why even Kohli and Pujara weren't great test players until Eng series). Whereas for bowlers we are impatient: we have already taken away confidence of Ojha, Ashwin, Amit Mishra etc, who are all young and long term prospects. Yadav, Shami and Bhuvaneshwar are all raring to go, but without any guaranteed long term support we will only kill their confidence. That said, Harbhajan had his time and has been given enough chances, now is the time to look at long term prospects.

Ashwin is not good should not be the reason for supporting Bhajji. Anyways he will be thrown out after a match or two max.

I hope Dhoni learns from his mistakes he made against England and utilises Bhajji to his potential rather then using his as a part time bowler. Dhoni has to keep his ego aside and play for the sake of the game.

Bhajji will find back pain and comeback when apponent seems to be good and you are asking Dhoni for that?

Sifarishi players like Ashwin don't last long... but what to do... there can be only one king...

Please explain what else do you know about Bhajji? Where does he stands in the lead test wicket takers in the world? How many Indian bowlers have taken 400 plus wickets in India? Does Bhajji's name is in the list? Does he holds any batting records in test cricket? Has he ever taken 5 wickets in test match?

Sportsperson should learn to defferentiate between being assertive and being aggressive, while being assertive is doing what is right in a positive manner , being aggressive on the other hand can lead to trouble
