jaffer atleast got his chance in test cricket but could not hold on because of inconsistency...his average is a lowly 34 in tests...not good enough ...u need to be above 45 in India....but i never understood why amol muzumdar never got his chance in test cricket....politics may be ???

Jaffer got way too many chances, over 30 odd tests and had nothing to show. This is typical Mumbai cricket lobby pushing every cricketer. Not every Mumbai cricketer is a Tendulkar, so don't pass off Jaffer or Nayar as national treasures. They have just won Ranji, something which even Services and Saurashtra can do today!

Jaffer was given chance to play in WI & SA where our reputed batsman r not able to play & the other new comers r given chance in India where on flat pitches anybody can hit ball & make runs

It would have made sense if you had termed Sehwag (in last 4 years)as failure. Vijay scored a 100 against Aus. He only failed in WIndies, just like Pujara failed in SAfrica. Why for that matter Vijay, Pujara and Kohli had the same record before Eng series when the latter two were picked.

Jafar got his chance in 2008 & he made runs as well....... but then he was dropped for no reason....... Now he is 35 & cant be a long-term prospect for India
