CAN THIS NEW LOOK INDIAN BATTING CROSS 500 RUNS MARK ?
by damodaran mohan on Feb 13, 2013 06:44 PM  | Hide replies

Considering that it is rebuilding stage for TEST team India the selectors have to have some leeway for experimenting with youngsters as also to give some more chance to experienced bowler like Bhajji who is woefully out of form. Even if Bhajji doesn't click he can say bye bye happily playing his 100 TESTs.Now the question is if the team can beat Australia ? Answer is difficult but the team is certainly expected to do much better than what it did against the English. For one, the Aussies are not as good as the English whether it is the batting or bowling ,especially the spinners. Next, with Gambhir dropped and Sehwag virtually on notice we expect better application from the opening pair which again is under construction. Lot is expected from in form Pujara and Kohli who should be able to stabilize the middle order . It would have been better if Kohli had got a match ahead of the TEST. Tendulkar ? Bhagwan bharose.Dhoni seems to have turned around his batting and Jadeja’s induction is sure to give greater stability to the batting and lots of future hope rides over him.Similarly the bowling attack is a mixed bag of young pacers and experienced spinners. Both Ashwin and Bhajji will have to either deliver for one last time or make way for youngsters. But it should not be forgotten that even the cliché of “essentiality of 20 wickets ….” also presupposes a ‘500 Runs’ batting line up side for a side to win! So ultimately the question boil

Request to Anti Bhajji Group
by Ajeet Singh on Feb 12, 2013 11:37 PM

Hello there,

I know you are very proactive and always fume when he plays and do not waste time to write him off. Please have guts and answer the following questions without using abusive language:

1) How much do you know about him?

2) How many Indian bowlers have taken 400 plus test wickets?

3) Where does Bhajji stands in the test wicket taking bowlers?

4) Does he holds any batting records in test cricket?

5) What was significant about him during the semi finals against Saurashtra in Ranji Trophy?

6) How many wickets did he take in the Irani Trophy?

I have seen enough venom of your to write him off, now please be courageous enough to answer the above questions.

What will Jadeja do in the Test team...... he is a Bits & Pieces player...... What will he do in a 5-days match at No.6...... he will be the next great failure in tests........ as Rohit sharma is in ODI's

Chennai wicket is a concern
by Krish on Feb 12, 2013 06:43 AM  | Hide replies

Chennai wicket was too pacy and bouncy versus Pakistan. It should be slowed down, otherwise India is in for a rude shock! And then if we lose first test, then that's it we can have a repeat of Eng series or worse. Mohali still has swing, but is not pacy now, so it's okay. Hyd and Delhi would have been perfect to start the series- would have given our batsmen solid chance to get into form.

Indian Test Team Squad
by manoj bhatia on Feb 12, 2013 01:39 AM  | Hide replies

Sehwag
Rahane
Pujara
Tendulkar
Kohli
Dhoni
Jadeja
Ashwin
Harbhajan
B.Kumar
Ishant

This squad has two fast bowlers. Three good spinners. Both Ashwin and Harbhajan can bat. This gives captain a few options with Sehwag and Tendulkar as backups. Bowling is not a problem.

Sehwag should go. Replace with Vijay, groom him for future. Rahane is not meant for TEsts, he doesn't have the temperament for high level. Get Vijay and Dhawan to open. Rest of your team is perfectly fine.

Go check statistics. Vijay has better success rate against class opposition than Jaffer, who has been given 31 tests to prove. Vijay and Dhawan should open Give these guys 30% chance that Gambhir or Sehwag has got lately, they will do wonders.

Selection of Indian team for Aus tour
by Jawahar Agrawal on Feb 11, 2013 01:08 PM  | Hide replies

We congratulate the selection committee who selected totaly right combination of player. Recall of Dhawan in place of Gambhir is the right decision. Raina is ODI player like Yuvraj & failed in test matches in the past. Jaffar is very old & not competent to play against Aus pace attack. Dhoni should use five bowlers instead of four(Two seamers Bhuvneshwar & Ishant ) (three spinners Harbhajan,Ashwin & Jadeja).

Very correct assessment of Jaffer and need to have 5 bowlers. Gambhir should have gone long time back, instead he was being offered captaincy!!
