BCCI & Dhoni are the villains
by pradeep agarwal on Jan 02, 2014 05:50 PM

They both were keen to provide Sachin a farewell at the cost of team India & did that precisely. Why could board not invite a world eleven for one match at Mumbai against India with their money power than inviting a rank bad WIndies? The ease with which Indian batsman scored against weak attack & bowlers got wickets was a sure suicide for a much tougher tour in SA.The defeat in ODI series followed by second test & an almost in first shows the timidity of captain & his team against quality stuff.

Rahane and Vijay both with 7/10
by NashikMarathi on Dec 31, 2013 11:55 PM

Figures.....

Ajinkya my man - they will drop you the first chance they get. Enjoy your stay in the team.

You are just not in the same league as Dhawan, Vijay and Rohit where the establishment is concerned.

If you cannot see the fightback in tests, let be an Indian first!

Seven out of ten for Zaheer is unbelievable. Basis for this generosity?

Shami who certainly performed better than Zaheer is rated less. Another surprise. Is the author still going by Zaheer's past records?

The minority quota has to be filled so make it look like on merit

Pointless
by Vish on Dec 31, 2013 07:27 PM

All this analysis is pointless. Irrespective of how many points each player gets, the result does not change. Team BCCI again easily defeated abroad, after barely managing to defend 458 in 1st Test.

CAN A WANING CAPTAIN DHONI MANAGE A TURN AROUND?
by damodaran mohan on Dec 31, 2013 05:10 PM

(contd..)Now finally Captain cool ? Perhaps he was too cool in those hot conditions in SA to allow slip by positions of advantage. Has the magic started waning ? Appears so because even during the earlier last two overseas Test series debacles or even in the home series loss to England and Pakistan Dhoni individually could not have been blamed to a great extent. But in this series, with such a dynamic young side at disposal Dhoni certainly could not live up to the challenges of rising to the occasion at crucial junctures both at individual level as well at captaincy level. He certainly needs to strategies and plan better for the upcoming tours. The NZ and subsequently(?) the England series should be acid Test for Dhoni. While the England series is little away , a poor showing in the immediate NZ series, against a relatively weaker Test side just cannot be accepted. Can Dhoni mange a turn around ? Finally, now coming to the No. 1 SA side, for once at Durban they managed to throw off the ‘’chokers’ tag and proved why they are the No.1 side !They too now move into Post King Kalis era the way we have moved into post Sachin era and SA too already seem to have found the right successor !ABD. The Aus tour will be watched with keen interest back home in india in the background of Aussies’ recent revival in the Ashes series..The Protease cannot take the spirited Aussies lightly.
