Lot of people here comment on kallis being greater than Sachin.. Kallis is an excellent cricketer... but not as great as Tendulkar.. Simply because one played for a better team where the team did not depend on him and another played for a weak team where the entire team depended on him... Just imagine if they had to switch teams what would have been the record of Kallis and what would have been the record of tendulkar.. Sachin would have had an average more than than 70 as he would have played more freely without any pressure on his shoulders... Guys repect Sachin for what he has acheived being and Indian... His record would have been better if he had a good team... like that of todays Indian team... no one is depending on one person... from Dhawan to Ashwin all can play good innings.. So what Sachin has done no else could have done being in shoes at that moment.. Sachin the GOAT.

Since he has already announced his retirement after Durban Test. i can't understand what realistic chance you are talking about!!
Kallis is the greatest cricketer of all time. His bowling is super and batting is an absolute delight to watch. Many people say that is batting style is boring but I found his batting is extremely attractive, solid and selfless. A real team player and a great asset for cricket. Take a bow, sir.
He leaves some greatest cricketer behind, tendulkar, ponting, bradman as well for that matter, are way out of his league, his contribution in bowling and batting and for being able to remain at service for SA for such a long time is a applausable effort. Most graceful cricketer and great gentlemen world has seen.

He is the greatest Player of this Open Era. No one is having that Caliber.
Kallis is the greatest cricketer ever , period!, its only that indian media and indian commentators ask questions and say things implying Tendulkar's greatness as part of his brand management.
Kallis commands respect for his silent all-round presence in Test cricket. Such a utility player! A gentleman! This battle between two utility players- Dravid (batsman, wicketkeeper) and Kallis (batsman, bowler) will be worth watching, for sure! Both bear similarities- true gentlemen, well-respected, selfless who played for their teams and the game, walls of their batting lines-up, multi-utility players!!! Good luck, Kallis! Test cricket shall miss you...
If you look at record he is 5 notch ahead of our Tendi. Tendi started career in 1988 but Kallis in 1995 that's 7 yrs later. Still he is just 2000 runs short which he can still make if he sticks around for record for another 2 yrs. Further the average in tests is 56 while our Tendu had 51. I really feel bad when people don't get there due credit. Kallis has always been a great sport, silent guy with great bowling and stunning batting. Best wished dear, you made me live the sports all my youth

Tendulkar started in 1989! His average is 53.78 and not 51! He has 100 international hundreds compared to 61 for Kallis! He had a boring technique compared to what was the stroke playing genius of the modern era.As an alrounder, yes he is one of the greatest cricketers of all time, but in batting he is behind Sachin, Lara, Ponting and even Dravid.
