Sachin will be greatly relieved

This news will bring great relief to Sachin, because his test record of runs was in reaching distance of Kallis. Had reverse been the case Sachin would have played till he broke the record, irrespective of how many matches he took, and sploit the careers of many budding players.

Your statistics is incorrect. Kallis could have matched or overtaken on No. of Centuries but not on runs scored. Kallis is pretty close to many milestones (14k runs and 300 wickets in tests). But sadly he is being pressurised into retiring by SA. Wish him a good last test match.
